Rosario Dawson toasts Studio 189 with Grey Goose at Surf Lodge

Rosario Dawson toasts Studio 189 with Grey Goose at Surf Lodge

Rosario Dawson's private dinner at the Surf Lodge in Montauk, kicking off the start of the holiday weekend. The occasion marked a rare getaway for Rosario who is taking a holiday break from filming TV show Luke Cage to hold a pop-up of her clothing line Studio 189 at Surf Lodge.

Rosario was joined by notables from the realms of fashion, art and design including Peter Brant Jr.  Guests routinely ventured outside of the private dining area to enjoy the tunes of EDM sensation Bob Moses, only to rush back to the confines of the intimate setting after the rowdy crowd got too fired up.

Following the performance, the dinner got into full swing with myriad courses of local Montauk cuisine complemented by the Grey Goose summer cocktail Le Grand Fizz. Members of Bob Moses - including Tom Howie, Jimmy Vallance, and Quincy Davis -joined the a-list group and partied until the wee hours of the morning.

Douglas Elliman continues to expand it's company’s presence in Brooklyn with the acquisition of Brooklyn Hearth Realty, a highly respected firm founded in 2004 with offices in North Slope and Ditmas Park, and the addition of new offices in Williamsburg and Bedford-Stuyvesant later this year.

With this expansion, Douglas Elliman brings its office count to 90 nationally, adding approximately 20 percent more agents to the firm for a total of more than 300 agents in Brooklyn.

Brooklyn Hearth boasts the skillset, proven track record and marketing creativity that mirrors the work of Douglas Elliman, and we are delighted to officially welcome them to our firm
— Howard M. Lorber, Chairman of Douglas Elliman Realty, LLC

Brooklyn Hearth Realty was instrumental in the growing popularity amongst home buyers, sellers and investors in Ditmas Park, Windsor Terrace and sections of Park Slope over the past decade. All eight employees, including its three founding partners, Rebekah Carver, Jan Rosenberg and DeAnna Lenhart, will join Douglas Elliman and will continue to work from their locations at 207 Cortelyou Road in Ditmas Park and 43 Fifth Avenue in Park Slope, which will now be branded as Douglas Elliman locations.

As part of a continuing growth strategy aimed at representing and serving the needs of clients, the acquisition and expansion will add dynamic new communities to Douglas Elliman’s national network of more than 6,500 professionals across 90 offices nationwide.

Beginning in 2004, Brooklyn Hearth helped ignite the once dormant co-op market in Ditmas Park and attracted new inhabitants by putting urban research about local Brooklyn neighborhoods into action. Rosenberg, a sociologist and former professor at Long Island University in Brooklyn, started the firm after she, along with others in the community, realized the neighborhood needed more vitality and new residents.

Most known  from the Javits Convention Center, the late home of Jacob K. Javits has been listed on the market by his children who are selling the estate.

Just off the entry foyer and next to the wet bar is a beautiful curved staircase with its vintage lucite handrail, that brings you to the elegant and ample south facing formal dining room. This space overlooks the living room and has an art-deco balustrade, another architectural detail that lends a unique touch. Also on this floor is the generously sized windowed eat-in kitchen which has a substantial pantry area with a 2nd sink and a full bath.

The service elevator conveniently comes to this floor. Downstairs, the bedroom hallway nicely separates the public rooms from the private spaces and leads to the large master suite with oversized windows that provide open south views, numerous dressing closets and a windowed en-suite bath with a deep closet.

The 2nd bedroom is a generously proportioned south and east facing corner room that shares a large en-suite windowed bath with the 3rd bedroom and given its placement, would work well as a den or office. H
