The Benefits of Buying a Smaller Home with More Land

Buying a small home with a lot of land has many benefits, but what they are does depend on where you live.  Different states have varying rules on what you can and cannot do with the land, and they all have their own rules and regulations you have to follow. Before you go ahead with a deal for a small home with more land, check out the rules for the state you will be living in to ensure you can do what you have planned.

Privacy

According to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Extension, the main reason people buy a home surrounded by more land is for privacy. They can fence off their property, put gates at the end of their drive and hide away from the rest of the world for as long as they like. Everything To Know Before your Labor Day Weekend BBQ

Summer is a great time to go outdoors and start grilling, but if you’re up for a challenge then you should consider trying Argentine Asado. Asado is Argentina’s version of a traditional barbeque that strictly uses wood for fuel. Grilling beef the Argentine way takes years to master and is considered a rite of passage amongst Argentinians.

Mario Graziano, a recent recipient of Argentine-American Chamber of Commerce Business Man of the Year title, and his son Leo are two experts from Argentina who have mastered the art of asado. They brought their culinary smarts to Miami in 1990, then opened a chain of steakhouses, bakeries and markets which were entitled Graziano’s. Below are a few of their secret tips to making their amazing asado.

1. Start with quality ingredients.

When preparing to grill this summer, don’t skimp on the quality of your food. You want to get the best products you can. Getting locally sourced beef which has been grass-fed will give you a more flavorful taste, and it is noticeable leaner.

A staple for any backyard chef, propane grills offer a wide variety of grilling options that will delight the entire family.

2. Fire is the heart and soul of Argentine grilling.

When it comes to asado, only wood is used to give the beef a smokey taste and to remain to the traditional roots of adado. Although, the trick to grilling the perfect asado is to not let the beef touch the flames. Graziano’s has Quebracho wood ordered on a quarterly basis to give the asado its smoky flavors that it is known for.

3. One flip is all it takes.

There is no need to keep flipping the beef when it comes to asado. Flipping the beef once will keep it juicy while also giving the outside a nice brown crust.

4. No fancy tricks. Just salt.

When it comes to asado, it is believed that the flavor comes from the quality of the beef you are grilling, which is enhanced by only salt. When grilling your asado, salt it from above and serve it with some homemade chimichurri.

5. Patience is everything.

Asado takes time and patience as it best cooked low and slow. The process can take up to three hours, but it’s well worth the wait. While you’re waiting, gather your friends and family around and enjoy some Carbernet Sauvignon or Mendoza Malbec. Leo Graziano’s pick is Las Perdices Cabernet Franc.

Housewear: A New Category of Clothing to Invest In

We generally tend to split our clothing into two broad categories: daywear and nightwear. Daywear, of course, consists of plenty of subcategories, as it’s anything that we wear outside of the home. Nightwear tends to be the items of clothing we sleep in, whether that be nightdresses or pyjama top and bottom sets. You can also style your nightwear for daytime use if you plan to stay at home for the day. However, we are seeing the rise in a whole new category of clothing: house wear. This bridges the gap between items you’d wear out and the items you’d sleep in. House wear provides you with comfortable but presentable clothes that are perfect for lounging about the house in! Here are a few elements that you might like to incorporate into your wardrobe.

House Shoes

The majority of us will have had a pair of slippers at some point or another during our lives. After all, we don’t particularly want to wear our shoes around the house, but we don’t really want to walk around with bare feet either. Wearing shoes in the house can result in our flooring (and carpets in particular) building excessive levels of dirt relatively quickly. As clean as your shoes may appear, anything that comes directly into contact with the floor outdoors is likely to pick up all sorts of dirt and dust. This will simply transfer to your floors if you wear the same footwear around the house. But on the other hand, you want to remain comfortable, keep your feet warm, and avoid picking up bacterial or fungal infections from having our bare feet come into contact with the floor. Slippers, of course, would seem like the logical option to go for. But they have problems in and of themselves. They tend to be made of flimsy material and, consequently, you have to replace them time and time again. But there is an answer to all of your problems in the form of house shoes. House shoes are a hybrid between slippers and shoes. They have the comfort of slippers but a tough rubber base that gives them better grip and increased longevity. How Skilled Are You In The Art Of Relaxing?

All arts require skill. Relaxing is absolutely an art. It is not something that happens completely passively. It’s possible to have many days off work, with your only responsibility there to relax and enjoy yourself, and yet STILL feel stressed and unnerved. Measure and add vodka to Collins Glass. Top with measured amount of fresh lemonade. Measure and add raspberry liqueur. Garnish with skewer of 1 or multiple frozen honeydew melon balls (note: place honeydew melon in freezer beforehand, then, to create melon balls, use melon baller).

Misha Barton, who stars in the soon-to-be-released supernatural horror film "The Toybox" with Denise Richards, has been seen house hunting in Southampton with Douglas Elliman Broker Aaron Curti.

The former "The O.C." actress--who has family homes in London, Los Angeles and New York--visited a few properties with a friend recently. The trio then headed to dinner at Tutto il Giorno in Southampton, which is owned by Donna Karan's daughter Gabby Karan de Felice.
