The Most Expensive Celebrity Homes On The Market In 2022

Celebrities are just like us, in that we all need somewhere to live. However, the similarities begin and end there. We hustle for the cheapest home loans, search for the funds to pay our mortgage closing costs, and prepare for years of monthly bond payments. They simply pay cash for multimillion dollar mansions.

It can be a form of masochism to look at home listings just out of reach, but seeing what celebrity homes are on the market is innocent fun. After all, you're probably never planning on spending ten million dollars or more on a home.

Here are some of the most expensive celebrity homes on the market in 2022.

Janet Jackson’s $9 Million Manhattan Condo

Let’s start at the ‘cheap’ end of the scale. Janet Jackson is selling her Manhattan condo for $9 million. Yes, that’s a condo we’re talking about. Coming in at around 2,100 square feet, it gets its value from the fact that it’s prime real estate. It is on the 34th floor of One Central Park West, which is attached to the Trump International Hotel and overlooks Central Park.

Janet Jackson originally bought the three-bedroom condo for $2.8 million back in 1998. She hasn’t been inside it in three years, though. If you splash the cash for this condo, you'll get the hotel’s amenities along with it.

Kanye West’s $11 Million Wyoming Ranch

If $9 million for a 2,100 square-foot condo sounds like a bad deal, you can pay an extra two million for a massive ranch. Kanye West’s Monster Lake Ranch spreads over 3,888 acres. It even has lakes entirely for trophy fishing, a go-kart track, in addition to all the facilities a regular ranch would have.

Of course, Cody, Wyoming does not have the same allure as Manhattan, which is why the ranch packs so much bang for buck. Still, when you can afford to travel by private jet, few places are too far out of the way.

The Osbourne’s $18 Million Manor

Let’s ramp things up a bit and get to the really expensive celebrity homes. Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne are moving out of L.A., finally returning to where it all started. While living in America, they've become two of the biggest celebrities in the world. Without The Osbournes, Keeping Up With The Kardashians would possibly never have happened. Ozzy and Sharon changed reality TV forever.

If you do end up buying their 11,565-square-foot, six-bedroom home, you can get a taste of how they lived during their time in the U.S. While they have other homes here, this one is their main residence.

The Weeknd’s $22.5 Million California Condo

If you're eager to live in California, you could get a manor for $18 million or a condo for $22.5 million. The latter seems like a bad deal, but The Weeknd’s home is luxurious and big for a condo. It takes up the whole 18th floor of the building, coming in at 7,950 square feet. It has two balconies with incredible views, a wine vault, a home gym, and an espresso bar.

The Weeknd is not selling because he needs the cash. Rather, he is leveling up, moving to Bel Air where a 33,000 square-foot mansion awaits. The price? Just over $70 million.

Tony Stewart’s $30 Million Luxury Log Cabin

A quick $7.5 million jump takes us to the most expensive log cabin that has ever existed. Racing legend Tony Stewart had this 20,000-square-foot home built on 415 acres of land in Columbus, Indiana. Don’t let the term ‘log cabin’ fool you. This home is every bit as excessive as any other listing here. It has a massive aquarium, a bowling alley, a golf simulator, and a gym. Add to that a two-story waterfall and a hunting preserve, and you've got one of the most elaborate homes in existence.

Joan Rivers’ $38 Million Penthouse Apartment

If you've kept up with celebrity news, you're unlikely to have missed that Joan Rivers has been dead for eight years. Her penthouse is not suddenly on the market after all this time. It was bought in 2014 by a royal family from the Middle East for $28 million. They're selling it for an extra ten million in 2022.

As the most expensive entry on this list, you're getting a combination of excess and location. It is only 5,200 square feet (plus additional outdoor terraces), which comes nowhere close to Tony Stewart’s 20,000 square-foot home. However, New York’s Upper East Side is far more coveted than any part of Indiana.

Method: Chill Collins Glass by placing in refrigerator/freezer or by filling with ice water for 5 minutes. Remove Collins Glass from refrigerator/freezer, and fill with ice. Measure and add vodka to Collins Glass. Top with measured amount of fresh lemonade. Measure and add raspberry liqueur. Garnish with skewer of 1 or multiple frozen honeydew melon balls (note: place honeydew melon in freezer before using the melon baller). Cheers!

Riserva Ducale Tan

This fabled Ruffino wine has been on the most prized since it was first released in 1927. This wine is well balanced on the palate, with velvety tannins, firm acidity, and a lingering finish of rosemary. The blend is 80% Sangiovese - the most predominant and most famous red grape variety of Chianti - along with 20% Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon.

Emidio Pepe, Montepulciano d’Abruzzo

A funky red that not only gets better as it breathes but pairs well with beef, veal, pork, and pasta. It has earthy mushroom notes mixed with red and black fruit notes. Wait at the 30-minute mark; it will be a mouthful of jammed fruits!

It’s becoming the latest design must-have as well. According to Yelp's 2022 Home Trend Forecast Report, there was an increase of 181% for art installation search terms, indicating a shift toward creativity and self-expression in interior design.

Meanwhile, Sotheby's 2021 Historic Year In Review saw a 78% expansion into the 40-and-under demographic — a new trend for art market audiences. However, despite its importance to home design, art is often an afterthought for many people.

For those who prefer the finer things in life, it may be best to reconsider your stance on incorporating visually-pleasing pieces into your space. Here are five tips for curating art for your luxury apartment.

1. Choose Your Mood

Anybody with a Pinterest account knows the addiction of pinning design inspiration for your dream home — what starts as a few minutes to pass the time ends up being hours later.

Creating a separate board for art is an excellent way to discover your preferences, especially since the first step to curation is uncovering what feeling you want to elicit in each room. Do you want to create a bright and sunny mood, a relaxing sensation or something dramatic?

Maybe you have an affinity for color or wild prints to pop against a white wall or neutral furniture, creating an adventurous vibe. On the other hand, you might prefer your artwork to blend into the space or to make a gallery wall for a more organized atmosphere.

Achieving a balanced aesthetic that celebrates an iconic neighborhood, Juul-Hansen’s design for 96+Broadway incorporates elegant Jura gray limestone imported from sustainable German stone producer Franken-Schotter—a nod to the Upper West Side’s penchant for spectacular limestone Beaux Arts structures. Generous loft-like windows and staggered terraces create a sophisticated grid pattern paired with the limestone, ushering the past into the present through clean, modern lines that are accentuated by burnished bronze-finished framing. Inside, the building’s monumental lobby features soaring 20-foot ceilings, oversized windows that invite plenty of natural light inward, as well as a ground-level courtyard where residents can lounge outdoors. A centerpiece of the lobby is a striking welcome desk that was carved out of a monolithic block of Silver Travertine, emphasizing Juul-Hansen’s dedication to exquisite quality in his design.

Organic materials become a focal point in each home with open-plan living rooms that display extra-wide, 7.5-inch European white oak flooring and lead out into Juliet balconies or terraces with arched, custom-designed, bronze-finished balusters in select residences. Kitchens are defined by Italian-crafted solid oak cabinets and drawers with exposed dovetail joinery and earthy desert quartzite slab kitchen countertops and islands, as well as equipped with Sub-Zero Wolf appliances. Primary bathrooms are finished in heated herringbone-patterned Truffle White marble flooring and feature a Waterworks soaking tub (and fittings) enveloped by Bianco Dolomiti marble, which also extends its cladding to the walls and floor.
