Why Travel Itineraries Matter: Balancing Exploration and Relaxation

To put it simply, a travel itinerary is a document that contains a very detailed plan of action for the upcoming trip. This detailed plan of action most typically contains relevant travel information, which can also include booking information, tickers, and transportation, which is organized and structured in a schedule format. The plan also includes the time and day when you will be doing specific tasks. The significance of travel itineraries is hidden in the fact that they act like a map that may help you navigate everything during your holiday or backpack adventure so you can make the most of your time while at a specific destination. The most common itinerary will describe key points about the trip and outline all of the details so you can make it a success. Here are some more reasons why itineraries matter.

Destination Overview

One of the key points included in every itinerary is the destination overview. Basically, this is the stage where you should complete research about the place you intend to visit. Truth be told, this is the most important stage since you cannot go to a new country or continent without having some basic knowledge about the destination. So, the travel itinerary cannot be written unless you have some general understanding of what you want to see within a country.

Highlighted Experiences

The travel itinerary is not complete without all of the experiences you want to acquire in a certain location. No matter if these small goals are as small as seeing some tourist attractions, riding jet skis on the sea, or hiking in the mountains. Once you have done your research and are certain of the things you want to visit, it is time to make a separate section about the highlighted experiences. Also, you should not forget to include pre-booked trips, experiences, and tours in your travel plan. To this end, if you decide to book Roman Forum tickets, for instance, you can look up the offers online and even book them beforehand. Instead of waiting until the last minute for the booking to be done, you can do this a couple of months earlier and stay on the safe side.

Trip Duration and Logistics

Now that you have a picture of the destination you want to visit and everything you want to do, it is high time for you to detail your trip duration and logistics. This means that you should plan out how many days and nights you intend on spending in a certain location. Also, you should manage transport times and flight times and arrange everything about your move throughout an unknown region. For instance, you will need to calculate how long it will take you to arrive at the airport, what your check-in time is, and then account for the actual flight time. Logistics is an important aspect to get right and to incorporate every single little thing, which also includes eating, transporting, and getting ready. It is all about planning and considering all of the details, so getting the duration and logistics right will be one of the greatest factors in your trip.

Day-By-Day Itinerary

One of the many things that make this itinerary so beneficial and important for your trip is that the schedule is outlined day by day. It is recommended that you map out your travel plan that will cover all details until the date when your flight is due and have enough time to fit in and visit whatever you originally intended.

Foodie Plan

There is no complete travel itinerary without dining and cuisine options incorporated as well. You should go ahead and take a look at some local recommendations or just freestyle your dining options. However, it is a good idea to do your research beforehand and make sure that you do not break your budget. This way, you will make the most of your time during the holiday without knowing what you will eat.

Accommodation Planning

Last but not least, every single good travel itinerary includes certain accommodation details about the place you are staying. This way, you will be able to find out if there are amenities that should be included and that could possibly change the course of your trip. For instance, if your accommodation includes breakfast in the offer, you will not need to plan your breakfast every single day.

Creating your travel itinerary is a super important step, as you will be able to predict and plan out every single minute of your time on the trip. This way, you will make the most of your time. However, give yourself some freedom to freestyle and go with the flow.

How to Save Money While Living in NYC

Living in New York City is the dream of many people, but it might seem out of reach financially. The Big Apple is costly, and people trying to settle here without a great job may suffer. That said, NYC doesn't have to be a money pit if you understand a few simple facts. The following tips will help make this city a bit more affordable for the average person.

Tips for Transportation and Parking

The average American car or truck spends 95% of its life parked. In New York City, that might be closer to 98-99%. Driving and parking in the Big Apple are not enjoyable and can be extremely expensive. However, there are less expensive ways to get around New York.

For instance, walking and biking are trendy in New York because both are free and work well in such a densely populated city. If you need to get anywhere within about a mile or two, walking and biking are your cheapest options and will save you money in the long term.

You can even pay for an inexpensive CitiBike membership, which includes access to bikes whenever you need them. Note that similar budget transportation options are available for subways, including a yearly pass that works well for people regularly traveling.

Entertainment on a Budget

Having fun in New York can be pricey if you're hitting up all the big Broadway shows and concerts. You can apply for free tickets from the biggest shows in New York. While your chance of winning is low, it's better than no chance.

Remember that New York offers many free entertainment options, such as park concerts and street entertainers. While that's different from seeing Hamilton, these options are inexpensive and can work well if you get bored and need a little fun for the day.

Make the Best of a Modest Living Arrangement

There's a good chance you'll live with others when renting in NYC. Having roommates isn't as bad as it might seem because they can help with groceries and utilities. Just as importantly, they can help you cover repairs, maintenance, and upgrades to your home.

Fixing simple leaks in a home can help you save up to 10% on your water bills. Other similar repairs may help in different ways, and working with your roommates to address these situations can ensure that you live comfortably in New York.

It's also important to understand things like down payments and how your credit score can affect your living situation. All FDIC banking institutions must release quarterly reports about their financial information. These details may affect whether a bank is willing to work with you.

Eating on a Budget in New York

Let's face it: you're probably not going to eat out a lot when you live in New York City. The food is fantastic and unique but way too expensive if you have little cash. Thankfully, there are ways to get around this problem by shopping at discount food stores and cooking at home more often.

For example, there are places like Trader Joe's and small mom-and-pop grocery stores where you can buy inexpensive food and save money. Asian, Indian, and Middle Eastern food shops can also provide great ingredients and recipe books to help you become a master chef and save cash.

Other tips to consider when saving money in NYC are to buy an inexpensive exercise bike to get in your workouts and to avoid high-end coffee shops. Talk with a financial adviser if you need help with these steps. They can help you plan with your money, take the cash you have saved, and invest it to build a better passive income level.

5 Great Towns for Weekend Getaways From NYC

For all of New York City’s admirable qualities, its non-stop hustle and bustle can wear on even the most energetic city dwellers. If you’re looking for a brief reprieve from the noise in the Big Apple, the beautiful state of New York has many retreats close by.

Learn more about the large, diverse state you live in by exploring some of its most charming towns and regions. Here are five great towns for weekend getaways from NYC.

1. Catskills

The Catskills is a budget-friendly attraction in the heart of New York’s Appalachian mountains, just a few hours away from the big city. With scenic views, various eateries, and plenty of lodging options, this spot is a perfect destination for all interests.

You can hike the Overlook Mountain or Minnewaska State Park Reserve, or simply head to the town limits and admire the mountains as they loom over you.

You will find family-friendly restaurants and fine dining in Phoenicia, the town nestled within the Catskills, but transportation is tricky for first-time visitors. You can either catch a bus for $35 or rent a car for the day, though experienced travelers recommend the latter option.

Once you arrive, you can stay at all kinds of cabins and cottages along with some unique hotels.

2. Hudson

Hudson rests on the east bank of its namesake river, about two and a half hours away from New York City. The former whaling port town is known for its historic buildings and blossoming food scene, with many destination eateries sprouting up around the area.

It’s no surprise that New Yorkers consider Hudson and other towns like it around the Hudson Valley an ever-more-appealing location for vacation homes, especially considering buying and selling properties in the area is less cutthroat than in beachier locations.

What do you do on your weekend away? You can browse antique shops, art galleries, and local businesses downtown or explore the many nearby hiking trails. It has taken several nicknames, including the Un-Hamptons, New York’s Upstate Downtown, and Brooklyn North.

As for where you should stay? Hudson offers many housing options for vacation rentals, as you can choose from several boutique hotels and local Airbnbs. There are also classic bed and breakfasts for a quaint and cozy stay.

3. Skaneateles

This village on the shores of Lake Skaneateles (pronounced “skinny atlas”) sits 30 minutes away from Syracuse and just over four hours from the Big Apple. You can get the traditional summer lake experience with scenic views and water sports, or find something more quiet and peaceful in the village.

East Genesee Street is effectively the town’s main street, dotted with small shops and restaurants of all varieties. New Yorkers call Skaneateles the “jewel of the Finger Lakes” for a reason: it has all the luxury and homely comforts you can ask for in a small town.

Well-off city dwellers like to retreat to Skaneateles and other nearby lake towns for summer retreats, so you can find beautiful vacation rentals of all shapes and sizes here.

4. Saratoga Springs

Saratoga Springs is a small town about three and a half hours due north of New York City and 40 minutes away from Albany. It has a similar historical appeal as Hudson, with Victorian architecture and remnants of the park-like woodlands that used to occupy much of pre-colonial America. The town takes its name from the bubbling springs that attract many visitors.

Saratoga Springs also has the perfect touch of modernity with multiple prominent tourist attractions, including the Saratoga Automobile Museum, the National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame, and the National Museum of Dance and Hall of Fame.

You can stay at a traditional hotel or rent a cabin. If you’re planning a romantic getaway, you might want to look at the Union Gables Inn, which has a fireplace in each room.

5. Ithaca, New

Outsiders only know Ithaca as the home of Cornell University, but this town has a lot more to offer than Ivy Leaguers roaming the streets. While Cornell’s beautiful campus and historic buildings add a layer of charm and sophistication to the town, you should first visit the Ithaca Commons – a stretch of shops, eateries, museums, and other forms of entertainment.

Fortunately, navigating the small town is easy enough even without a car. Ithaca, largely due to its student population, uses public transportation at an impressive rate compared to other American municipalities. Visitors from NYC can look into the TCAT schedule to explore the village.

Your Guide to Vacation Rental Properties in Monaco

The Principality of Monaco is a small country located on the French Riviera, south of France. It has an area covering just about two square kilometers. Monaco is one of the smallest independent states in the world. Located in street Monte Carlo and near the Port Hercules, this guide will introduce you to choosing the best luxurious Monaco vacation rental properties during your travel.

Think About Affordability

When you travel as a tourist, one thing that makes your travel experience as pleasant as it can be is finding an affordable travel package. Traveling is not enough to have a good time for your travel experience. You also need to find the right place to stay and the best travel packages that fit your budget. Not everyone has the same price range when it comes to travel packages. You might be a student, a young professional, or a retired person still looking for a place to travel to. This is precisely the reason why travel packages are available in different budgets. It all depends on what you want to travel to and where you plan to go. Just make sure you properly research where you're booking as internet crime is on the rise. This kind of crime is when people use the Internet to make false or fraudulent claims to customers.

How Convenient Is the Property?

Many people travel for business and travel during long holidays with their family and kids. When traveling, especially if your travel is for more than a day or two, you need the property close enough to places of interest. If you travel for business, travel is convenient when you stay in a vacation rental property in the city. When you travel for business, your time is very limited. Being close enough to work reduces travel time and thus increases travel convenience.

Consider a Spacious Facility

One of the most important factors determining your sleeping quality is the room size when you travel. How big or small your room size will greatly impact sleep quality. When choosing a property for rent, look at the sleeping arrangements of the whole house. This will give you an idea of what types of rooms are available in the property you want to rent. If there are only single rooms in the house, you might consider renting a property with large rooms. On the other hand, if there are some double rooms, you may want to go for smaller sized rooms so that your travel costs can be cut down.

Consider the Amenities of a Facility

When you travel and stay in a place with great amenities, rental vacation properties make travel convenient. Such properties offer all the travel essentials needed for traveling with your family. Vacation rental properties are available globally. People travel from one country to another to stay at these accommodations. As popular as it may be, choosing a vacation rental property is not easy. Some properties have simple amenities. Others have more advanced ones, such as Universal property insurance. Before booking a vacation property, you may want to visit the place and look at its features. The choice will depend on your travel, location, and how many people are traveling with you. For Monaco, you may want to stay at a property with a view of the F1 city circuit that crawls through the streets. In races, there are shorter tracks and speedways that usually are about 0.5 to 2.5 miles long. The Monaco track falls in this category, as it is about 2 miles long.

Choose a Property That Is Close to Nature

As more people choose to live without screens and close contact with nature, many investors and developers see the opportunity to provide these homes. Vacation rentals that include hiking trails, natural beauty, and clean air are highly demanded. In today's modern world, many people appreciate the natural world. Some choose to live in houses surrounded by trees and grass. Others prefer a more modern style of living. However, everyone agrees it is important to spend time outside in nature. With this in mind, people should settle for properties that provide their guests with access to nature.

Where you travel to can make all the difference in your travel experience. Traveling to Monaco means that you will be surrounded by beautiful beaches, castles, and other monuments. Visiting the beautiful city isn't something you should put off, as over 1 million Americans will live in senior communities by 2030, research suggests. Take advantage of your youth and visit Monaco today!

The 'One Hundred Shoreditch' London Is Now Open For Reservations

Annabella Pardo

One Hundred Shoreditch, the new hotel from Lore Group (the group behind Sea Containers London, Pulitzer Amsterdam, Riggs Washington DC and Lyle Washington DC), is now taking reservations ahead of its opening in February.

The 258 bedrooms and suites have been designed with calm and comfort in mind, giving guests headspace and a place to disconnect from the outside world. The rooms are finished in neutral color schemes with original abstract art, while the suites feature a mix of bespoke furniture and curated vintage pieces, in addition to large terraces with views of Shoreditch and the London skyline.

Mark Jonathan Heyburn, Hotel Manager comments: “We’re super excited about the opening of One Hundred Shoreditch and seeing the new spaces come to life. The team and I can’t wait to start welcoming guests in February and showcasing the hotel to our neighbors and community”.

One Hundred Shoreditch will offer the largest choice of restaurants and bars within one hotel in the area, including three bars, a restaurant, a coffee shop using local roasters Ozone Coffee, and a take-out hatch ensuring that there’s something for everyone at any time of day or night.

Inspired by England’s fishing villages and coastal towns, Goddard & Gibbs will be a casual, all-day restaurant specializing in British seafood with a focus on ethical sourcing and local suppliers. The Wine Bar will be an easy space to wind down or enjoy a glass with friends. The wines will represent a mix of modern, forward-thinking producers sitting alongside more celebrated regions, complimented by sharing plates. As a playful extension of the restaurant, the Hatch will be a fun addition to the Shoreditch High Street offering an easy way to order seafood and snacks to eat on the go.

In the basement, drinks visionary Ryan “Mr Lyan” Chetiyawardana will open Seed Library – a laid-back bar where the drinks harness a rich manifesto of heritage ingredients to create new takes on favorite serves with a cleaner, differently composed balance sitting alongside a handpicked selection of beers and wine.

The Rooftop at One Hundred Shoreditch will offer panoramic views of East London, alongside a menu of Champagnes, sparkling wines, cocktails and spritzes. Pink marble accents and lush foliage come together to create a space that feels like a private garden in the heart of Shoreditch, which can be privately booked for events. The Lobby Bar will act as the hotel’s living room – a comfortable space serving a selection of drinks and cocktails alongside Neapolitan pizzas.

One Hundred Shoreditch will also be home to five meetings and events spaces suitable for everything from private dining and receptions to meetings and weddings. The largest room, surrounded by floor to ceiling glass, offers views of the London city skyline.

As part of the hotel’s ongoing commitment to the local community, One Hundred Shoreditch has partnered with two charities: Spitalfields Crypt Trust – an East London charity focused on helping people facing homelessness and addiction transform their lives; and REFUGE – a charity providing specialist support to those experiencing domestic violence and abuse.

The hotel’s opening offer allows guests to book rooms from $232.

Opening rates from $232. For further information on One Hundred Shoreditch, please visit: www.onehundredshoreditch.com.
