Julian Van Winkle Old Fashioned

If you’re looking for something a little old-fashioned for watching the game, you might want to try your hand at a Julian Van Winkle Old Fashioned, a drink that emerged in the latter half of the 19th century. Ingredients

2 oz Pappy Van Winkle bourbon

Orange bitters

1 lump demerara sugar

1 slice of fresh, ripe orange

Orange peel for garnish

Method: Slice orange. Place a napkin over the glass and rest a cube of demerara sugar on it. Add several dashes of orange bitter. Place the sugar cube into glass, crush and mix it with the orange. Add 1 oz Pappy Van Winkle. Fill the glass with ice. Stir several times. Add 1 more oz bourbon. Finish with a slice of peel.
