Silver Oak Made a Backgammon Set, and Only 100 Exist

Holiday entertaining is getting a particularly good-looking new accessory. Silver Oak has partnered with Los Angeles luxury game maker Throwing Doubles on a limited-edition backgammon set designed for the dinner table, weekend house and wherever the next bottle happens to be opened.

Limited to just 100 sets, the collaboration pairs a handmade leather backgammon board in a custom Cabernet-red colorway with a bottle of 2022 Silver Oak Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. The board is handmade in Los Angeles and finished with an embossed Silver Oak wordmark, translating the winery's familiar visual identity into something meant to be played rather than simply displayed.

The pairing makes more sense than the usual branded holiday collaboration. Both wine and backgammon are inherently social, built around lingering at the table rather than rushing through an occasion. Throwing Doubles founder Brittany Weinke has built the brand around that idea, reworking classic games in premium Italian leather, contemporary colors and portable formats designed to move from dinner parties to weekends away.

Visually, the set lands somewhere between game night and design object. The Cabernet-red leather gives the board enough presence to leave out on a coffee table, while the accompanying bottle turns it into a ready-made holiday hosting gift. The imagery released with the collaboration leans into that atmosphere too, with the board styled alongside Silver Oak bottles, wine glasses and an evening-at-home setting.

The Silver Oak x Throwing Doubles Backgammon Set is $450 and will be available beginning October 15 exclusively through Silver Oak, while supplies last.
