Where To Workout In The Hamptons

Gyms and indoor fitness centers may not be open  and may not be the safest option these days, but the Hamptons are offering outdoor classes that follow CDC guidelines so you can stay on top of your workout routine! From cycling class to group workouts, the Hamptons has everything you need to get a good workout outside.

SoulOutside by SoulCycle

SoulCycle is a company that offers cycle classes to members of the Soulcycle community. With many different classes for you to choose from in Bridgehampton, Water Mill, Montauk, Southampton, and more, you can take a class outside with your favorite instructor. Soulcycle has benches set up for easy shoe fitting and access to restrooms and changing rooms. To reserve a time, go on the SoulCyle website.

One Ocean Yoga - Bridgehampton, NY

Located on the Channing Daughter’s Winery, One Ocean Yoga offers yoga classes overlooking the beautiful views of the winery. During the Covid-19 pandemic the classes are limited to 20 people, reservations are required, and you need to provide your own mat and equipment. These yoga classes are perfect for a relaxing workout with breathtaking views of the Hamptons.

Fhitting Room - East Hampton, NY

Fhitting Room HIIT classes are taking over The Clubhouse Hamptons outdoor space and offering HIIT (high intensity interval training) classes on Saturdays in East Hampton. The classes are by reservation only and no equipment is required.

Barry’s Bootcamp - Southampton, NY

Floor workouts outside? Barry’s Bootcamp has you covered! Each class is 50 minutes long providing weights and bands that are safely cleaned for you to use during your workout. Masks must be worn throughout the class and headphones will also be provided for use of the ‘silent disco’ sound system.

As April begins, we are continuing to social distance and work from home, doing our part to ensure we refrain from getting others or even ourselves, sick. One of the many reasons it is becoming increasingly difficult is restlessness, although you are free to take a walk, we are spending most of our time between four wallsWhether you are looking to continue working on your weight loss or physical health goals or you simply want to move your body to help release pent up energy, below is a list of workout apps that will help get you moving without equipment.

FitOn: Fitness Workout Plans

Fitness programs and personalized workouts for your needs are free, however if you would like you can subscribe to their FitOn Pro for $69.99 annually.

With 30 Day Fitness they compile different variety 30-day challenges, fitness exercises or plans, and personalized workouts. They have HD video tutorials to help show the proper way to do each movement and you can track what you have accomplished every day. Start with beginner exercises and gradually pick up intensity as the days go by. While it is free, you can subscribe to take advantage of all the features for a monthly fee.

Whether you are a beginner, an athlete, or workout often, Sworkit offers a wide assortment of at home work outs to fit your needs. The way the app shows workouts is easy to follow, they provide simple videos as they time you, giving you a breather in between a few. Rated #1 by a collegiate study to “assess fitness apps for safety, the ability to help people progress in their fitness level, and effectiveness of the workout” (Sworkit), they give you the workout you need in any time-frame that you have. Tone, improve your flexibility, or lose weight whether you have 5 minutes or 45. They also offer workouts for kids so you can get the whole family involved.
