These are the NYC hottest neighborhoods in 2022

February 28, 2022 by Jeremy Lindy

With 2022 already in full swing, anyone looking for real estate in NYC already has their eyes peeled. Whether it’s people who are looking to move into NYC or entrepreneurs looking for their next investment, NYC’s real estate is as hot as ever. But you might find yourself wondering: which neighborhoods in NYC are the hottest? Today, we hope to answer that for you. We have put together a list of NYC hottest neighborhoods in 2022. We hope you find it useful.

Dumbo, Brooklyn

The name Dumbo is short for Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overlook, and this neighborhood is easily one of the NYC hottest neighborhoods in NYC. Trendy cobblestone streets and converted warehouses decorate the waterfront in Dumbo. These make beautiful backdrops for the many quality restaurants and caffes dotted around Dumbo. All of this together is why Dumbo has recently become quite popular, especially among younger individuals. In addition to all of this, Dumbo is also home to a thriving performance and gallery scene. Although, it should be noted that Dumbo is currently the 6th most expensive neighborhood in NYC. Median home prices here are $1,900,000, which makes the neighborhood prohibitive for people looking it move in, so if you plan to move here you should know how to extend the life of your home. Entrepreneurs might find that this neighborhood is a good long-term investment.

Greenwich Village, Manhattan

This next neighborhood is widely renowned for being one of the best places to live on Manhattan. Greenwich Village offers a very idyllic and peaceful place to live, which makes it particularly popular among artists and young professionals. The many bars, parks, restaurants and coffee shops also make it a wonderful neighborhood for entertainment. And to top it all off, it is considered to be one of the safer places on Manhattan as well. The median home price in Greenwich Village is $1,015,600 while the median price of apartments is $373,000. While this can still be a bit prohibitive, it isn’t as bad as other popular places in NYC. If you plan to move here, however, we recommend hiring local Manhattan movers to help you along. Pros from the area can make your relocation much easier by ensuring your belongings arrive safely and on time.

Red Hook, Brooklyn

If you are someone looking for a quieter, more laid-back life in NYC, then Red Hook is the location for you. What attracts q lot of people to Red Hook is its unique, seaside village feel, which gives the entire neighborhood a peaceful atmosphere. This neighborhood is also home to several unique art galleries. And, if you like enjoying yourself in the city, it also has many quirky bars and cozy restaurants and eateries. The drawback of Red Hook is that its popularity has made it expensive. The median home price in Red Hook is $1,200,000. Investors might be interested in property here, but you should be aware of how to select remodeling materials if you want to invest into some property here. A smart use of your money in Red Hook can lead to a lot of profit, as long as you are careful.

Red Hook is one of the few quiet and laid-back neighborhoods in NYC.

Kew Gardens Hills, Queens

Kew Gardens Hills makes the list of NYC hottest neighborhoods for several reason. Firstly, it is incredibly cheap for an NYC neighborhood, and secondly it is very family friendly. This makes it a perfect fit for both young people looking for their own homes or young families looking for a nice place to raise their families. Built in the 19th century as one of the seven planned garden communities, it is home to many small parks and gardens. There is a lot of entertainment suitable for children and plenty of good eating in the restaurants dotted around the neighborhood. Most importantly, however, the real estate here is incredibly cheap. Median home price in Kew Gardens Hills is only $372,590, which is unbelievably cheap for NYC. Moving here is very easy, as such. Just make sure to hire reliable NYC movers to help you relocate your entire household in no time.

Flatiron, Manhattan

Back to a neighborhood which gives you a city feel. Named after the iconic, wedge-shaped Flatiron building, this neighborhood is home to tall apartment buildings and office high rises. Flatiron is definitely on the prohibitive side for regular people, it is a great place for entrepreneurs looking to invest. Flatiron is mainly a commercial neighborhood. As proof to this, a lot of young professionals already call it their home. That said, the neighborhood doesn’t lack entertainment. Home to the Madison Square Park, which is known for its seasonal decorations. Median home price in Flatiron is $1,490,000, so for anyone looking to live here renting an apartment is the better option. Investors might find that property in Flatiron can be turned for a handsome profit if handled well. Some remodeling is needed, and you should consider the reasons why your property would benefit from a bathroom remodel.

Flatiron has everything a big city needs, and this makes it very popular among young professionals.

Gowanus, Brooklyn

A former industrial zone which has seen a lot of developments in recent times, Gowanus is a neighborhood particularly popular with artists. Interesting art galleries and studios are dotted around the converted warehouses. The gritty, industrial feel of the neighborhood is also attractive to young professionals who call it home. The real reflection of Gowanus’ popularity, however, can be seen in real estate prices here. Making it the most expensive on this list, median home prices in Gowanus are $2,402,500.

These are the NYC hottest neighborhoods in 2022 - conclusion

NYC has always been a popular place to live, and its hottest neighborhoods are the reasons why. Unfortunately, they are also some of the most expensive places to live. The price tag, however, is also followed with good jobs and high quality of life. We hope you found this list of the NYC hottest neighborhoods in 2022 helpful.
