New York City has the best wages in the country, and they continue to rise. The average Manhattan salary has now reached over $3,500 according to BLS, and will only continue to rise. While the cost of living is rising too, there remains a gap, and that’s helping New Yorkers to enjoy their apartment-based lives to a greater degree. Through the affordability and availability of different services, NYC apartment life is becoming more pleasant with each passing month.

One of the downsides of NYC apartment life is, often, the lack of a garden and areas to dry clothes. Indeed, one writer for The Guardian who left the city was overjoyed to find she could now undertake laundry outdoors. What NYC provides instead are laundromats - sometimes painful to use - and maid services, which are seeing increasing uptake across the city.
