3 drinks to get excited about this summer

February 22, 2022 by Jeremy Lindy

Finally, it’s nearly March. Somehow humanity has survived what has felt like the longest winter of all time. Now it’s time to start focusing on glorious sunshine, blossoming flowers, and quenching your thirst with delicious drinks!

Whether you want a fruity mocktail, iced tea, or a good ol’ cocktail, these alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks are the perfect addition to your weekend. Choose your favorite from the list below and toast to the good times ahead!

1. Mocktail’s galore

The revolutionary mocktail. More and more people are choosing to opt-out of alcoholic drinks for a variety of reasons, but being sober doesn’t mean you have to miss out. Mocktails are great for every occasion and all the family and offer an exciting opportunity to get creative with flavors.

A popular cocktail is the strawberry lemonade punch, served on ice with lots of berries. To make this perfect summer concoction, mix lemon juice, strawberries, and maple syrup into a blender with two cups of water. Blend until the mixture is completely smooth. Pour into a pitcher and combine with sparkling water or a tonic, add some lemon juice and any remaining strawberries. We love to throw in some raspberries and blueberries too! Serve with ice and a reusable straw and you’re ready to go.

2. It’s all about the tea

Teas don’t have to be drunk hot on a cold day, they can be as fruity and fun as a refreshing mocktail. Also, drinking tea is a great way to make sure you’re drinking enough water; experts advise that you drink up to 8 glasses of water a day. Having a healthy iced tea on a warm spring day allows you to stay hydrated in a new, flavorsome way.

A top favorite is peach and ginger tea, flavors that go very well together. These two flavors create a very tart, strong recipe which is great when you want to spice things up! Companies like coopertea.com have a wonderful selection of teas to choose from which are perfect for your summer party or weekend with friends.

3. Old classics

Nothing screams summer more than a fresh glass of Pimm’s or Aperol Spritz! We love a classic cocktail, so get your happy hat on with a mixture of Aperol, prosecco, and soda. For the tastiest outcome, we suggest you add about 50ml of Aperol to each glass. Then divide the Prosecco and soda between the glasses.

Another big contender is the ‘Frozé’ - a trendy new drink that involves bending rosé and frozen strawberries. It’s frosty and delicious!

Or add a twist to a much-loved classic - a raspberry mojito! We love this drink because it’s a lot sweeter with a real berry punch. To make this perfect summer drink, blend raspberries with mint, sugar, lime, sparkling water, and white rum (although you can leave out the rum to make a mocktail if you’d prefer). Add a raspberry and mint leaf on the top of your drink and you’re ready to party.
