The Altman Brothers Join Sales Team For The Harland-West Hollywood

Douglas Elliman Development Marketing announces today that one of LA’s top-producing teams, The Altman Brothers, led by Josh, Matt and Heather Altman, will be joining the sales team for The Harland, which the firm has been exclusively appointed to handle sales and marketing for.  Developed by Faring and DM Development with architecture by Office Untitled and interiors by Marmol Radziner, The Harland is a collection of 37 luxurious townhomes and flats at 702 N. Doheny Drive, between Santa Monica and Sunset Boulevards.

To kick off their new role, the Altman Brothers team paid homage to the beloved Halloween pumpkin patch previously on the property by offering complimentary pumpkin picking in partnership with Children’s Hospital LA and Lupus LA then opening the event to neighbors and the community. They will continue hosting virtual events in the coming months, including art shows, fitness events and rooftop movie nights.

“We are thrilled to be handling the sales for The Harland, which is addressing buyers’ needs in Los Angeles for high-end homes in walkable areas with abundant outdoor space,” said Josh and Matt Altman of Douglas Elliman. “The elevated level of design and distinctive architecture combined with the expansive amenities offered to residents is an experience unlike any other in West Hollywood,” added Heather Altman of Douglas Elliman.

The one-, two- and three- bedroom flats, including penthouses and three-bedroom townhomes range from 1,500 to over 3,100 square-feet. The townhomes feature a double-height great room with soaring ceilings and abundant natural light. The Harland emphasizes indoor-outdoor living with floor-to-ceiling glass walls that open onto expansive private outdoor terraces and patios.  Penthouse residences and select townhomes include spacious rooftop terraces appointed with shaded pergolas, integrated planters, wood decking and outdoor kitchens with sinks and gas barbeques. 16 of the 37 units at the Harland offer dramatic, private rooftops. These exclusive units offer panoramic views of the Hollywood Hills and the Los Angeles and Century City downtown skylines.

“We are very excited for the Altman Brothers to join the sales team for The Harland to showcase all that these extraordinary homes have to offer in terms of distinctive design and highly-crafted finishes, expansive outdoor spaces, extensive amenities, and luxurious services, all in one of the most desirable locations in West Hollywood,” said Mark MacDonald of DM Development.

A curated collection of amenities provides a selection of social, lifestyle and wellness offerings. The Harland’s entertainment lounge is furnished with a Carrara marble and brass-detailed bar, a walnut pool table, private dining room and exhibition kitchen, as well as a screening room, two-lane Marmol Radziner designed bowling alley and a state-of-the-art fitness center with adjoining yoga studio.  The building also features 9 semi-private elevators and a 24/7 doorman.

The space itself at 895 Park Avenue, PHA, is awe-inspiring. Sprawling across two floors of a 21-story building on the Upper East Side, the duplex encompasses approximately 6,300 total square feet, with an additional 700 square feet of outdoor space between two private landings. There are six bedrooms, six-and-a-half bathrooms, multiple wood-burning fireplaces, and a bright, revitalizing, enclosed solarium that brings in ample sun and natural light. But perhaps trumping it all are the breathtaking views that can be had in nearly every direction — owners can watch Midtown Manhattan come alive, along with the historic cityscape hugging Central Park, all from a serene and secure perch.

If the address, 895 Park Avenue, caught your eye, there’s a reason for that — every inch of the space is rich with history, as the property was previously owned by famed composer and cultural icon Leonard Bernstein. In fact, this property is where Bernstein hosted an infamous “radical chic” party with and in support of the Black Panther Party in 1970 — an instant conversation starter.

Built in 1929, the building is designed in the classic Art Deco style that calls back to New York’s golden age and features all of the white-glove luxuries you’d expect: A live-in super, full maintenance and service staff, a state-of-the-art fitness center, and even squash and basketball courts. Prominently situated on the southeast corner of 79th street and Park Avenue, owners are in the heart of the Upper East Side, too, with direct access to world-class dining and shopping.

This unit is listed for $29.5 million by  Bonnie ChajetAllison ChiaramonteTania Isacoff Friedland, and of Warburg Realty.

One Prospect Park West Sells Park Slope's Most Expensive Condo

While the pandemic may have pressed pause on sales of trophy penthouses in Manhattan, a new Brooklyn development is leading the charge with a record-setting sale, renewing confidence in the luxury market in the land of the brownstone.

One Prospect Park West, the historic Knights of Columbus clubhouse-turned-luxury-condo in Park Slope that launched sales about 60 days ago, just put into contract the most expensive condo...in Park Slope history.

Asking $6.5 million, the penthouse home is not only the most expensive home on the market in the neighborhood, but also, at $2,000/square foot, the most expensive home to ever go into contract in Park Slope. With four bedrooms, four bathrooms and a 1,500-square-foot private terrace, the penthouse represents the kind of home buyers are searching for today: enough space for everyone to relax/work/learn from home, private outdoor space, mere steps from a park, and -- of course -- located in Brooklyn. This impressive sale is a strong sign for the borough during the pandemic, in a time when the city’s luxury market has significantly cooled.

Since launching sales this summer, One Prospect Park West has attracted positive interest from the market and racked up a number of deals across a variety of price points. In addition to the penthouse, Residences 3B and 2K also went into contract in October, which were listed for $2.75M and $1.8M, respectively. Buyers are snapping up the building's spacious homes that offer immediate access to Prospect Park, unprecedented skyline views and timeless design.

One Prospect Park West is the first residential development to feature interiors by WORKSTEAD, the renowned Brooklyn-based design firm, and is a rare new condominium located directly on Prospect Park. Originally built by the Knights of Columbus in 1925, the 10-story building served as a lavish hotel and club for members, replete with a ballroom, restaurant, bowling alley, billiards’ hall, indoor swimming pool, club rooms and council chambers. The building is being developed by Sugar Hill Capital Partners.
