2026 Update: Squash Is Headed to the Olympics, and More NYC Buildings Are Adding Courts

Squash will make its Olympic debut at the 2028 Los Angeles Games, one of five new sports added to that Games’ program, putting a fresh spotlight on the sport as a real estate amenity draw. Since this article was first published, at least one more Manhattan building has added a private squash court: 96+Broadway at 250 West 96th Street on the Upper West Side includes a regulation squash court with a basketball hoop as part of its fitness center. 720 West End Avenue has also incorporated a combination basketball and squash court into its amenity package. Racquet sports as a category, including squash, tennis, pickleball, and padel, have seen participation climb slightly, from 19.7% of Americans in 2024 to 20.5% in 2025, according to sports facility industry data.
