What Can You Not Miss on the Vegas Strip?

February 18, 2023 by Jeremy Lindy

Discover the top nine things you cannot miss while traveling on the Las Vegas Strip

The Las Vegas Strip is the heart of the city. The most renowned hotels, restaurants, activities, shops, and shows exist on the Las Vegas Strip. If you book a hotel room on the Strip, you won’t even need public transportation because all the best attractions are within walking distance.

Are you interested to learn about these attractions? Below are the top 9 things you cannot miss on the Las Vegas Strip.

1) Hotel Shows

Las Vegas has dozens of active entertainment shows and productions at hotels and clubs throughout the city. However, the Las Vegas Strip is home to some of the city’s most entertaining shows, such as Australian Bee Gees, David Blaine, George Lopez, Jabbawockeez, Legends in Concert, Jerry Seinfeld, Mystere, O, Piff the Magic Dragon, and countless other hit shows.

If you can fit at least three or four of these shows onto your Las Vegas travel itinerary, you and the rest of your party will have a fabulous time. In addition, you can get tickets to these shows on Vegas Lens and enjoy exclusive discount ticket opportunities not available elsewhere.

2) The Grand Canal Shoppes

The Venetian Resort Hotel features the Grand Canal Shoppes. They are a series of fascinating Venetian-style retail shops and world-class restaurants you cannot experience anywhere else. If you and your family love to shop, you could spend days browsing the 160+ signature retail stores at the Grand Canal Shoppes.

When you want a break from shopping, take a romantic gondola ride through the manufactured Venetian-style canals surrounding the Grand Canal Shoppes. The gondoliers controlling the boat will even serenade you and your loved one.

3) Madame Tussauds

Madame Tussauds is another must-see attraction at the Venetian Resort Hotel in Las Vegas. It is a wax museum featuring wax replicas of your favorite sports figures and singers throughout modern history, including Elvis Presley and Beyonce. Visiting Madame Tussauds provides the rare opportunity to get close to these lifelike celebrities and have your picture taken with them.

4) The Wildlife Habitat

The Wildlife Habitat at the Flamingo Hotel consists of four acres of exotic wildlife, streams, and waterfalls. The wildlife and species include brown pelicans, waterfowl, Chilean flamingos, albino catfish, hummingbirds, turtles, koi, and more. There are no entry fees to visit the Wildlife Habitat, so it is perfect for travelers on a budget.

Think of the Wildlife Habitat as a Las Vegas oasis. In the middle of the hot desert landscape lies this exotic jungle-like location with exotic creatures and water. It is unlike any other environment you will find in Las Vegas.

5) Helicopter Tours

Las Vegas has numerous helicopter tour services available. For instance, some people like to take a helicopter tour of the Grand Canyon and Hoover Dam because it is faster and more exciting to see them via helicopter. But if you want to experience gorgeous views of the Las Vegas Strip, take a helicopter tour of the city at night.

Tour companies like Canyon tours offer nighttime helicopter tours over the Las Vegas Strip and other places around the city. When you see all the beautiful lights on the buildings and street signs from the helicopter above, it’ll be a picturesque sight you will never forget.

Many visitors also choose to upgrade their Las Vegas experience by booking Las Vegas charter flights, allowing for a more personalized and luxurious way to reach their desired destinations. Not only will you save time, but you'll also have unforgettable views from above the city.

6) Bellagio Fountains

The Bellagio Fountains are a free attraction for anyone who happens to be outside the Bellagio Hotel. It features over 1,000 different water fountain nozzles spraying water nearly 460 feet high before it falls. Since the fountains span over 1,000 feet across the front of the Bellagio Hotel, it is a truly remarkable and romantic sight.

There are fountain shows every 15 minutes starting at 7:00 PM and ending at midnight. Don’t worry about the nighttime darkness because all the fountain water illuminates brightly with the lighting technology installed.

7) The STRAT Observation Deck

The STRAT Tower is a 1,149-foot-tall observation tower at the STRAT Hotel on the Las Vegas Strip. No other observation tower in North America is as tall as this one. The best part is that the Observation Deck at the top of the building offers a splendid view of the Las Vegas Strip below.

Visiting the STRAT Observation Deck is a must-see attraction while visiting the Las Vegas Strip. The 360-degree views will make you feel like you’re flying over the Strip. You can even dine in the restaurant at the top of the tower.

8) The Mirage’s Volcano

Do you want to see an erupting volcano in Las Vegas? The Mirage Hotel features a manufactured volcano erupting massive fireballs and explosions at different points between 7:00 PM and 11:00 PM. Mickey Hart of the Grateful Dead band contributed soundtrack music to this attraction. You can hear it playing in the background as the volcano erupts and puts on a live show for the crowds outside.

9) The “Welcome to Las Vegas” Sign

One of the most iconic locations on the Las Vegas Strip comes right before you enter it on Las Vegas Boulevard. The iconic “Welcome to Las Vegas” sign stands right outside the Las Vegas Strip to greet travelers before they enter this legendary city. Tourists love to get their pictures taken while standing next to the sign. So perhaps you could take your picture next to it and post it on social media for your friends and family to see.

Conclusion

The Las Vegas Strip has enough shows, restaurants, and attractions to keep you entertained during your entire Las Vegas Strip. You don’t need to rent a car or rely on public transportation because every great attraction on the Strip is within walking distance. Besides, you can travel faster on the Las Vegas Strip if you walk because of the bumper-to-bumper traffic.
