How to Increase the Sale Price of Your Home

December 23, 2019 by Jeremy Lindy

If you want to take strides up the property ladder, rather than tumble down it, you must resolve to increase the sale price of your home. The more profit you make on your humble abode when you do decide to sell it, means the more money you will have to invest in your next real estate venture. If you continue to buy and sell houses in this fashion for years to come, you’ll no doubt find yourself living in your dream property sooner, rather than later.

To find out how you can increase the sale price of your current home, be sure to check out the advice laid out below.

Maximize Your Space

One of the first things potential buyers will look for when they visit your home is space. More to the point, they will look at the space that your property has available and they will attempt to envision all the ways they are going to fill it going forward. It is for this reason you should attempt to maximize the space in your home, as that will make it far easier for potential buyers to imagine themselves living in it in the future.

One of the most spacious yet often-overlooked areas of your home is the basement. By showcasing all of the storage/living opportunities that this room has to offer, you’ll give potential buyers some serious food for thought with regards to how they are going to use this space for themselves.

When it comes to maximizing this space, be sure to heed the basement storage ideas expertly provided by The Lock Up. This advice includes:

  1. Decluttering the space

  2. Creating a seamless organization system

  3. Creating dedicated zones

  4. Installing cubbies

Fix Structural Issues

Structural issues are a surefire way to put potential buyers off. Quite simply, it is absolutely essential that you fix these kinds of issues before you go ahead and put your home on the market. If you don’t, your home could be branded as being unfit for purpose and, as a result, nobody will want to waste their time viewing it

When you resolve to fix your home’s s.tructural issues, be sure to take the following defects into account:

  • Leaks in the roof

  • Rising damp

  • Cracks in the walls

  • Bowing doors/walls

  • Rotten joists

  • Insect infestations

  • Broken roof tiles

  • Collapsed/broken floors

Improve Your Curb Appeal

Your home’s front exterior is the first thing that potential buyers will see. If you want your home to make an impactful and memorable first impression on them, you should seek to improve your curb appeal. Taking on this challenge would entail you mowing your lawn on viewing days, de-weeding your driveway, clearing out your gutters, adding some light to the area, giving your door and windows a fresh lick of pain, and hanging a few pretty planters.

If you want to maximize the profit that you make when you sell your home, it’s imperative that you seek to increase its sale price. This can be achieved by putting the above advice into practice.
