Inside a Calm, Playful Tribeca Loft Designed for Real Life
In the heart of Tribeca, this loft was transformed into a calm, playful, and genuinely family-friendly home by interior designer Lindsay Biondo Lugo, founder of Houz of Rebel. The apartment opens directly from a private elevator into a spacious entertaining area that connects the living room, dining room, and chef’s kitchen—classic downtown loft living, but with each zone designed to feel distinct instead of blending into one endless room.
The living area balances polish with practicality: a plush white sectional in performance fabric anchors the space, warmed up with brown-toned pillows and a velvet fluted accent chair, while a sculptural green vase adds a controlled pop of color. Wood becomes the unifying thread throughout, showing up in the curved acacia dining table and continuing into a custom bar that mixes open shelving for glassware with concealed storage for everything else. A bold mural-like wallpaper moment near the dining area brings an art-forward focal point, and a styled bookcase adds personality with pieces collected through travel.
The primary suite is designed as a true retreat, centered around a tall upholstered headboard in a cream cotton blend and subtle art-inspired wallpaper, with a window-side alcove that doubles as a compact home office. A walk-in closet leads into a marble-clad primary bathroom with twin vanities, a soaking tub, and a walk-in shower—more private spa than city bath. Rounding it out is a rare downtown perk: a private outdoor terrace furnished simply with a bistro set, creating an easy escape for morning coffee above the streets of Tribeca.
