Nine Chapel Penthouse Sale Sets 2026 Downtown Brooklyn Record
Downtown Brooklyn has a new residential record for 2026. Nine Chapel has closed Penthouse B for $3,450,000, making it the highest-priced residential sale across all product types in Downtown Brooklyn so far this year, according to Corcoran Market Research. The full-floor residence officially closed on April 22, 2026, surpassing the previous 2026 Downtown Brooklyn record-holder, Brooklyn Point’s Penthouse E, also known as 1 City Point, 68E, which closed in March for $3,423,512, according to PropertyShark.
Developed by Brooklyn-based Tankhouse and designed by internationally recognized architecture studio SO-IL, Nine Chapel is a boutique collection of just 27 residences defined by innovative layouts, outdoor space, and a serious relationship with light. Penthouse B, represented by the Amiri Team of Corcoran, spans 1,969 square feet and includes three bedrooms, a private entry landing, full-floor privacy, exposures in all four directions, and four covered loggias that wrap the home. Those loggias are framed by the building’s distinctive perforated lightweight metal exterior, filtering daylight while creating private outdoor rooms that feel like true extensions of the interiors.
The record-setting sale comes as new development inventory in Brooklyn remains increasingly limited, giving boutique, design-forward projects like Nine Chapel added momentum. With this closing, the building is now approximately 90 percent sold, with just three residences remaining. Sales and marketing are led exclusively by Corcoran New Development, and for Downtown Brooklyn, the sale is another signal that buyers are still responding to strong architecture, privacy, outdoor space, and homes that feel distinctly rooted in their neighborhood.
