Inside the Party of the Weekend: Dom Pérignon x Murakami’s Flower Studio

If you weren’t at 262 Mott Street on Friday night, were you even in New York? Dom Pérignon kicked off the weekend with a glittering VIP soirée to unveil the Murakami Flower Studio by Dom Pérignon, an immersive art-meets-champagne pop-up celebrating the Maison’s latest limited-edition collaboration with legendary Japanese artist Takashi Murakami.

With a guest list that read like the front row at fashion week—Evan Ross Katz, Raul Lopez, Pierce Abernathy, Ava Dash, Chef Rōze Traore, Kilo Kish, and Quil Lemons, to name just a few—the studio’s debut buzzed with creative energy, high style, and of course, plenty of perfectly chilled Dom Pérignon Vintage 2015 and Rosé Vintage 2010.

SoHo’s chicest floral atelier-for-a-weekend was transformed into Murakami’s technicolor world, complete with an interactive AR mirror that animated his iconic smiling flowers, a live Ikebana floral bar, and design-forward touchpoints that blurred the line between gallery and gathering. DJ Lumia set the mood as guests toasted beneath neon blooms and snapped photos with limited-edition bottles wrapped in Murakami’s signature visuals.

The party served as the private prelude to the studio’s weekend-long public opening, where attendees could craft custom Murakami-style floral bouquets and leave with a keepsake infused with both playfulness and prestige. But Friday night? That was the invite to have—equal parts cultural moment, collectors’ drop, and champagne-soaked art fantasy.

The collaboration itself is Dom Pérignon at its most imaginative—an ode to creative time travel and design that lives beyond the bottle. Murakami’s signature smiling blooms replace the Maison’s vineyard visuals, creating what he called “a poetic tension between refinement and exuberance.”

Let’s just say: if this event is any sign, the future of champagne is a lot more colorful.
