Bathhouse Opens Its First Philadelphia Location at The Bellevue
Bathhouse, the New York City wellness brand known for reinventing modern sauna culture, is opening its first Philadelphia location and its first ever hotel based outpost on September 25, with bookings available starting today. The new space occupies roughly 36,000 square feet across multiple floors of The Bellevue, the landmark 1904 building at 200 S. Broad Street in Center City.
Bathhouse Philadelphia will take over the historic former Tiffany & Co. space within the hotel, blending the building’s century of history with the brand’s ritual based approach to contrast therapy and recovery. Co-founder Jason Goodman said the location was chosen for its central place in the city’s cultural and commercial life and for the beauty of a building that pairs 1904 heritage with contemporary design.
Most of the experience sits within a dramatic, brick walled basement level, where guests will find three indoor pools and three thermal rooms, including an infrared sauna, a dry sauna and a banya, alongside a steam room. In early 2027, Bathhouse plans to open a third floor outdoor terrace, a rare open air addition in Center City, with its own pool, a fourth sauna, lounge space and a concessions area. Bellevue general manager Firas Ghorab said the addition reflects the hotel’s investment in elevating the guest experience, pairing Bathhouse’s expertise in sauna and recovery with the offerings already available at the property’s Sporting Club.
Bathhouse first opened in Williamsburg in 2019 and has since added locations in Flatiron and on Atlantic Avenue, building a reputation for mainstreaming sauna culture in America through purpose built spaces for sauna goers and lifestyle enthusiasts alike. The Philadelphia opening marks the brand’s first expansion beyond New York City and its first location built inside a hotel. Bathhouse Philadelphia will be open daily from 8 a.m. to 11:30 p.m., with reservations available now. For a city with no shortage of historic architecture but few dedicated wellness destinations, the Bellevue outpost offers a new reason to book a visit to Broad Street.
