If you’re looking for a state that has something to offer everybody, Georgia is a great place to visit. It has plenty of big cities if that’s what you like, but if you prefer something a little more relaxed, you’ll find small towns and beautiful countryside as well. The only problem is deciding which area of Georgia is right for you. There’s such a wide range of different places to visit that all have their own unique character so a lot of people don’t know where to start when they’re planning a trip. If you want to visit Georgia, these are some of the best places to go.

Atlanta

If you’re visiting Georgia for the first time and you want to get a sense of the place, it’s best to start in the capital, Atlanta. A lot of people from around the country choose to relocate to Atlanta because it’s an amazing city that blends traditional southern hospitality with a cosmopolitan feel. There are plenty of great museums and music venues if you want to soak up the culture or you could spend some time in one of the many green spaces around the city. If you’re a food lover, Atlanta is a great place to visit because it has a thriving restaurant scene. There are also some great family attractions like the aquarium and the World of Coca-Cola in Atlanta as well so regardless of what kind of trip you’re looking for, you’ll find it in Atlanta.

Smyrna

If Atlanta is a little too busy for you but you still want to get the city experience, Smyrna is the perfect middle ground. Just 10 miles outside of Atlanta, this small city is a bit more relaxed but there’s still plenty going on. You can easily find a great hotel in Smyrna, Georgia for a decent price so it’s ideal for a budget trip. There are some great golf courses in Smyrna so if you want to spend a relaxing week on the green, it’s a great place to visit. If you’re into cycling, you should definitely visit the Silver Comet Trail as well. You’re still close to Atlanta so you can visit the city while you’re there but you don’t have to spend your entire trip in the hustle and bustle, so it’s a good way to get the best of both worlds.

Savannah

If you want to get away from the cities completely and reconnect with nature, Savannah is one of the best areas of Georgia to visit. You can take a great camping trip to Skidaway Island State Park. There are some beautiful woodland trails and along the water where you’ll find lots of wildlife like deer, raccoons, and even crabs. It’s also a bird watcher's paradise so if you’re interested in wildlife, Savannah is a great place to visit. There is some more luxury accommodation available as well if you’re not the camping type.
