What to Look For In a Luxury Apartment

November 08, 2021 by Jeremy Lindy

Everyone has a different definition of luxury. What one person wants is not necessarily what everyone wants, so when you are looking for a luxury apartment, you need to know what it is you’re looking for. Before you start your search, make a detailed list of the amenities and perks you would love to find in your new apartment. Once you have that list and you’re clear on your vision, you can start looking, and if you need help, here are some things to look for in a luxury apartment.

Doorman

The doorman is usually on the top of everyone’s luxury apartment list. A doorman is like having a human surveillance system. Not only does a doorman watch the door to keep any villains out of the building, but a doorman also gets to know everyone and can be of help at a moment’s notice.

What most people love the most about a doorman is the safety in having packages delivered and those packages staying safe. A doorman is a confidante of sorts and a must have in any luxury building.

Closets Closets Closets

One of the main amenities to any luxury apartment is having the space for your things. When you live in a large city like New York, space is extremely limited. Many New Yorkers pay monthly for a storage unit in order to house all of their things. If you are going to move into a luxury building, there is no need for you to pay for a storage unit. When apartment hunting, check out the closet space.

If the closets are not to your standards or are not big enough for all of your things, ask if there is storage in the building’s basement that comes with the apartment. Luxury means space and it should be on your list.

In-Unit Laundry

If you’re going luxury, gone are the days of going to the laundromat. Also gone are the days of sharing your washer/dryer. When you are making your list, make sure the in-unit washer and dryer is at the top. You have now graduated to an elevated way of living where you have your own appliances that are free to use and free at any hour of the day. There is much to be said for having privacy.

Great Property Management

If you’re paying top dollar to live in a certain building, then it needs to have top dollar management. Great companies like Ovation Property Management know what a resident needs and how they need it. You don’t want to have to fight for the simplest of requests all the time, if that were the case you would have paid a lot less to live in a lower grade building. Vet the property management company when you look at the apartment and research their track record. If you bump into residents in the hallway, ask them their opinion and experiences with the company so that you can get a better idea of how things work.
