Never Drink Bad Beer Again With Untapped

As spring approaches nothing is more refreshing than a nice chilled beer with some good friends, now the app Untapped is turning that experience into a social media platform. Over 625,000 people have signed up for the Untapped app which allows them to check in beers, rate them, and add personal taste notes.

The app allows you to see what beers you’re friends have been drinking and whether they liked them or not. If you connect with Foursquare it even allows you to check in at certain bars. The database on Untapped is vast so you’re bound to find the exact beer you’re drinking or the exact bar you are in.

As you drink more and experiment with different beers you start to unlock badges, a fun incentive to get you outside of your comfort zone. The badges are displayed on your profile for all of your friends to see. Based on your ratings Untapped will give you recommendations on what beer you might like from whatever bar you’ve checked into, almost like a personal guide. The app also updates it’s calendar whenever breweries announce new events and updates venues’ menus when they run out of certain brands.

Besides being a fun and inventive social media platform Untapped works amazingly as a personal journal. It’s a free way of being able to track what you’re trying and whether you liked it or not. For all beer enthusiasts, this app is a must-have.
