Mercedes-Benz and Superplastic Launch Limited-Edition Superdackel Capsule Collection in NYC Event
The world-renowned entertainment brand, Superplastic, celebrated for creating synthetic celebrities Janky & Guggimon, has embarked on an exciting partnership with Mercedes-Benz, one of the largest luxury passenger car manufacturers. Together, they have launched a co-branded Superdackel capsule collection. Unveiled at a drop event in the Superplastic flagship store in NYC on June 21, the event showcased the new Mercedes-Benz E-Class and the limited-edition toy and apparel collection.
Superdackel, the contemporary reinvention of the "Wackeldackel" nodding-dog toy, has joined Janky & Guggimon as digital companions for road trips, fully integrated into the new Mercedes-Benz E-Class MBUX Superscreen. This dynamic partnership, initially announced at CES 2023, reached a high point on "World Dachshund Day," commemorating the latest addition to the Superplastic universe.
The exclusive event, held at the Superplastic flagship store in NYC's SoHo district, displayed the full Superdackel collection. The event was an immersive experience, featuring a gallery space and captivating full-screen animations of the short film, "Road Tripz – Starring Janky, Guggimon & Superdackel." An imposing 8.2-foot Superdackel sculpture, first debuted at CES, greeted guests upon their arrival.
The collection comprises a special-edition, 12-inch Superdackel figure, handcrafted in the U.S. from cherry, maple, walnut, and alder wood, and adorned with the iconic Mercedes-Benz emblem. Limited to only 65 pieces, this distinctive item is a testament to the fusion of the luxury automotive and digital creative worlds. The collection further includes premium apparel and luxurious accessories, made from materials sourced in the U.S., emphasizing both Mercedes-Benz and Superplastic's commitment to net carbon-neutrality, as well as economic, environmental, and social responsibility.
