On October 6, the Denyce Graves Foundation hosted its annual “Harvest Moon” Gala in New York City, honoring world-renowned tenor Andrea Bocelli, philanthropist and musician Chandrika Tandon, soprano and scholar Dr. Louise Toppin, and director Francesca Zambello. Bocelli serenaded the audience with selections from La Bohème, telling guests, “Denyce Graves is a great friend of mine... I thought I would do something better and sing for you,” before earning a standing ovation.

The evening, held the day before Graves’ 30th anniversary of her Metropolitan Opera debut, celebrated artistry and mentorship with cocktails, dinner, and live performances. Hosted by ABC News’ Deborah Roberts, the gala drew luminaries including Adrienne Arsht, Deepak Chopra, Mikhail Baryshnikov, Cal Ripken Jr., Al Roker, Anthony Scaramucci, and Chanel Iman. Guests bid enthusiastically during the live auction, which included a private trip to Italy with the Bocellis and other exclusive experiences, raising significant funds to support the Foundation’s initiatives.
