5 Inviting Reasons to Move to New York City

October 04, 2019 by Jeremy Lindy

Are you ready for a change in your life? Sick of snow and mountain life and craving the big city? More than 264,000 people agree as they packed up and moved to the Big Apple.

The allure of New York City is hard to dismiss. From culture, the arts, diversity, opportunity, even the best slice of pizza you'll ever have, there are a plethora of reasons to move to New York.

If you are considering a move, read on. You'll be ready to start packing after hearing all the reasons New York is calling for you.

1. Energy and Endless Activities

New York is the city that never sleeps. Whether you want Thai food at 1 am or to get a pedicure at midnight, it can happen in New York.

Ready to sell your house fast and take on a New York state of mind? Consider skipping the realtor and contact one of the house buying companies in the area. You can get out of your house and take on the city faster than you can say Big Apple.

The energy of the city is contagious. There are always people moving about, the streets are busy and people all appear to have a purpose.

There is no end to the number of activities available in New York. From sports teams galore, famous musical acts, aerial yoga or a trapeze class, New York has an endless array of activities available waiting for you.

2. Creative Mecca

If you have a creative soul, New York will speak deeply to you. Creativity reverberates through the city.

From an abundance of Broadway and off-Broadway theater to fashion to galleries, the city is a creative creature's destination to be.

There are also famous museums like the Museum of Modern Art where residents and visitors alike can stroll to see a plethora of famous and noteworthy art.

 3. Convenience and Opportunity

When you think big city, you might not immediately conjure up images of convenience. But think about it. You no longer need a car for any transportation needs. There is an abundance of mass transportation options.

There are bodegas on every corner for easy and convenient shopping. But who needs to shop when there are restaurants at every turn worthy of some of your hard-earned money.

Along with convenience, comes opportunity. This city literally has everything. You want a particular job, you can find it. You want to take a class, it's here.

4. Central Park and Other World-Class Landmarks

While this might seem like a heading for tourists, you couldn't be more wrong.

Imagine cutting your morning run with your dog through Central Park. Perhaps the shortest route for you to work involves a stroll past the Empire State Building.

Think about a view of the Hudson River, the Statue of Liberty or a visit to St. Patrick's Cathedral on Sunday.

Tourist or resident, it won't matter because the city has more to offer to leave you in wonder.

5. Culture and Diversity

New York City has always been a melting pot of cultures. People come from all over the world to both visit and settle in there.

With diverse neighborhoods and opportunities to explore anything you can imagine with the arts, culture, and diversity are top reasons to consider New York as your new home.
