5 Cinco de Mayo Drinks That Are Easy to Make at Home

This weekend is Cinco de Mayo, and hopefully you already have your tequila on hand. Rather than go out with the masses hosting a party at home is always easier (plus more cost efficient) than risking it outside. Another benefit of making your own cocktails, you actually know what your putting into your drink.

Wether you prefer the traditional margarita or want to try somethng exotic this weekend, we’ve found some of the very best cocktails to celebrate Cinco de Mayo at home

Doctors Orders

Created by Michael Parish of Broken Shaker

  • 2 parts Tres Agaves Reposado Tequila

  • 1 part spiced carrot cordial (freshly pressed carrot juice, chili salt, sugar)

  • ½ part fresh pressed pineapple juice

  • ¾ part lemon juice

Add all ingredients into a shaker. Salt half rim.  Add ice, shake and strain. Add fresh ice. Use a small spray bottle to spritz mezcal over top and add garnish. Baby carrot garnish and Spiced Salted Rim (half tajin/half kosher salt) .


44th Street Punch

  • 1.00 oz Plantation Original Dark Rum 

  • 0.75 oz Lemon Juice 

  • 0.50 oz Rothman & Winter Apricot Liqueur 

  • 0.50 oz Giffard Fraise des Bois Liqueur 

  • 0.25 oz Zucca Amaro Rabarbaro 

All ingredients are combine and shaken. Served in a tiki mug. Garnished with Mint, a lemon wheel, and a tiki umbrella. 

Mr. Agave & Ms. Tuna

Add all ingredients in the shaker; add ice, shake and strain in coupe or martini glass.


D’USSE Lemonade

  • 1½ parts D’USSÉ® VSOP Cognac

  • 3 parts lemonade

    Build in a glass with ice and garnish with a lemon wheel

Ginger con Hielo

For the ice cube, mix together Triple Sec and Margarita Mix. Pour into king ice-cube tray and place piece of candied ginger in liquid. Freeze overnight. For preparing the cocktail, pour two parts of Reposado tequila over large ice cube in rocks glass. Garnish with lime twist.
