What Does The Perfect Nursery Look Like And How To Get It

June 13, 2021 by Jeremy Lindy

There are lots of things to think about when you’re expecting. Whether you’ve got a baby on the way, or you want to do some redecorating, there are lots of things to consider when it comes to the nursery. Due to the pricing of these products, some families struggle to afford all that is required for their newborn's upbringing. Fortunately, there are offers and discounts (such as these nuna deals) that parents can use towards their purchases! A nursery is a space you and your baby are going to spend the most time in, so it’s important to get it right.

The crib

First things first, at the top of the list of nursery essentials is a crib or a sleeping area for your young one. Whether you want to go for a simple bassinet or a fancy-looking crib your baby needs a place to sleep. Finding the right crib is the first thing you need to do when designing a nursery. There are so many designs and styles to choose from, so what you decide to spend on your baby’s crib is up to you. Whatever the cost, your baby needs to be comfortable, supported by, and protected by the crib.

Mobiles

Mobiles have long been nursery staples, both for their aesthetics and benefits. Mobiles help relax and soothe young children by giving them something pretty and spinning to look at. They are designed to dangle above your baby and put them to sleep. Not only that but they make the cutest decorations for any nursery. Whatever mobiles for nursery purposes you have, there’s bound to be something your tiny tot will love. Whether you opt for the dancing and singing mobile, or the spinning kind, there’s something out there for everyone.

Changing table

The next most important station to have in your nursery is the changing station. Babies tend to make a lot of mess and dirty diapers, and you need a designated area to get them cleaned up. A cleaning table can be any soft, flat surface where you can place your baby when they need a change. Your changing station needs to have diapers, wet wipes, and whatever else you may need close by. This saves you the trip of walking to the bathroom to get a towel when your baby needs you the most. When designing a nursery, don’t forget about the changing table!

Baby monitor

Whether you’re a busy working parent or an extra careful and anxious one, a baby monitor is a nursery essential. A baby monitor is a useful device that allows you to keep an eye on your tiny tot while you go about your day. With both video, audio, and infrared options, there’s no chance of missing your baby’s first steps or having an accident. As a new parent, it can be hard to sleep separately from your baby and to be apart. With baby monitors, you can rest a little easier knowing that your little one is just one click away.

Nightlights

Developing a fear of the dark is common in children and often as early as when they are babies. Children can sometimes find things scary or threatening that normally aren’t to adults. In order to save your child from many sleepless nights, try installing a nightlight. Nightlights are a great way to create a safe and comforting sleeping environment for your baby while making the room look great. From Minnie Mouse to a rubber ducky, there are plenty of adorable night light designs to choose from. Because they light up a room they’re on the list of nursery essentials.

An aesthetic

Last but not least, your nursery needs to have some style. Some might even say this is the most important thing on the list! When designing a nursery you can get as creative as you like with the theme, color scheme, and layout. Whether you want to make a “pretty in pink” themed room for your baby daughter or make the whole nursery barnyard themed, let your imagination run wild. Just don’t forget to keep your baby’s safety in mind when decorating your nursery. You want to find the balance between beauty and functionality, so no pointy furniture!

There you have it, a nursery needs to be home to a few things first before it can be a home to your baby. To start off the list of bare essentials, your baby needs a place to sleep and a place to get changed. Must have nursery accessories include mobiles and baby monitors to keep your baby happy and safe. Most of all your baby needs a space where they can feel safe and comfortable while spending time with their family. Don’t forget to have a little fun designing your baby’s nursery. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, so make it count!
