How To Choose The Right CPAP Machine And Where To Find It

June 13, 2021 by Jeremy Lindy

Who doesn’t like a good night’s sleep? It's much needed both for your physical and mental health. But due to various reasons, a lot of people have trouble falling asleep and need a bit of help to do so. Thankfully nowadays, there are a lot of treatments and machines you can find that are suited for your needs, all you have to do is choose the right one! If you recently got diagnosed with sleep apnea, one of the first things you should do is get the right machine to help with your symptoms. So here’s how to choose the right CPAP machine and how to find it!

Why do you need a CPAP machine?

CPAP machines are used to keep your nose and throat from closing by constantly sending a flow of air and keeping your breathing steady. This is used to prevent the apnea from happening and breaking up your breathing patterns in your sleep. People with sleep apnea have to be careful with choosing the right machine for them, especially if they are not calm during their sleep. A good CPAP mask needs to adapt to all your needs, sleeping preferences, and above all else to provide the best results possible.

Different types

There is not a universal CPAP machine, so you’ll have to see the different kinds in order to make the right decision. There are three main types, automatic, standard, BiPAP, and VPAP machines.

Automatic CPAP machines

This kind of machine works automatically - this means that the sensors react as soon as an apnea starts to happen, preventing the nose and throat from closing up by increasing the airflow. Once the occurrence stops happening, the machine gets back to normal by reducing the airflow and keeping and going back and forth if needed!

Standard CPAP machines

These types of machines work by having a standardized level of airflow, depending on your needs. Basically, you set up the chosen level of pressure, and once the machine reaches that level it stays that way all throughout the night.

BiPAP and VPAP machines

These types of machines are a lot more complex than the standard and automatic versions, basically, they are designed to have different settings for exhaling and inhaling. This means that the pressure is different and it adapts to the movements, they are perfect for people who need added support that standard machines can’t offer.

How the pick the best one for you

Since there are different models of these machines, there are also differences in the design as well, it all depends on what you need! If you are a light sleeper who doesn’t move much or someone who tosses and turns a lot during the night? As you can see from https://snoozeez.com/, there are certain CPAP machines that are more suitable for people who sleep on their sides, while others are made for those who can sleep on their backs. So it’s safe to say that practicality and functionality should be your top priority, getting your mask fitted nicely, picking the right design for your sleeping habits, and generally choosing something efficient. Also, it’s smart to keep in mind the level of portability, if you are traveling a lot, you want to make sure you can carry it wherever you go!

Additional features

There are also a lot of additional features you should consider, just to complete your experience and make things better. There are CPAP machines that offer a mask-off alarm, so you or your loved ones could be woken up if the mask were to come off, this can be a complete lifesaver! There are a lot of settings you can choose from, so it’s good to actually investigate the market and find the perfect mask for you!

Quality vs. price

Since the market is pretty diverse with lots of different CPAP machines, the prices can also warry. You can get them in any store that carries medical supplies but you can also order them online, from reputable sellers of course! Quality should always be your top priority when buying something like this, investing in your health is always better, as you will inevitably save money in the long run. Why make your life harder and cause more problems for your health, when you can get a top-quality machine that will save your life today!

At the end of the day, consulting with your doctor and getting a professional’s advice might be the best option when choosing such a product. It all comes down to your needs and finding the perfect CPAP machine that will suit them! Doing a lot of research is much needed, so make sure you get only the best for your health as it will improve the quality of your life in the long run.
