Is Cape Cod Right for You?

October 18, 2020 by Jeremy Lindy

Cape Cod is an incredible place to live, especially if you are looking for a refreshing change of pace and scenery or simply want to retire. Either way, this paradise, and its many towns have something for everyone. However, if you aren’t sure whether or not to make a move, there are some key things to know about this destination beforehand. Find out if Cape Cod is right for you by considering the following.

The Many Towns on the Cape

The cape has fifteen towns altogether, which is why there’s enough versatility for everyone. If you’re considering the move, research each township to see if you want to be in a large municipality like Barnstable, which has a slightly larger population and is a hub for business, or a smaller town like Truro, comprising two villages. You’ll want to consider your job and location, as commuting to a metro area might be too much of a task if the commute is long.

The Climate

For those looking to leave cold climates, Cape Cod is the best alternative. With nice, warm summers and mild winters, the weather by the coast is very comfortable. You won’t see snow, but you’ll get beautiful rainfall now and then. The summers aren’t too hot, but hot enough to go for a swim every day; this makes it the perfect destination for those who crave beach life.

Many people choose to buy a home in Cape Cod because it is a fantastic place to embrace the summer season and avoid harsh winter months. The coastal lifestyle is what many people dream of, which is why real estate in Cape Cod Massachusetts, is booming. With an array of choices from beach cottages to large waterfront homes, it’s no wonder that this a highly sought-after destination. Whether you’re looking for a holiday home or permanent residence, Cape Cod has something for everyone, and who doesn’t like a tropical lifestyle?

The Activities

If you are on the fence about moving, you need to contemplate what everyday life would be like. For instance, if you are looking for a more relaxing atmosphere, then the many beaches will be a determining factor in your decision. You’ll get plenty of peace and quiet with stunning scenic views of the beach, sand dunes, and lighthouses. With sailing and boating opportunities, you’ll definitely get to explore the ocean and nature. However, there are various things to do in Cape Cod that don’t involve the ocean, if that’s not your forte’.

There are plenty of outdoor activities to keep you entertained, like visiting the Nickerson State Park; you will enjoy getting a healthy dose of exercise with incredible greenery and rolling hills. Running or jogging is made easy when you’re surrounded by the soothing ambiance of the forested areas.

Overall, Cape Cod has the best of both worlds: the metropolitan areas and business hubs for the city folk and the laid-back environment that small-town people crave. Luckily, if you do choose to make this place your home, you’ll feel like you’re on vacation year-round. Just watch out for peak season when the tourists flock to town.
