Best Places To Visit While You Are Broke Student

September 25, 2021 by Jeremy Lindy

As tempting as it may be to tell “a poor student walks into the bar” joke, things are far from being bright these days as college students are indeed broke because of the constantly growing expenses and the college loan debts. Still, it’s not the end of the world, as there are ways to enjoy life to the fullest and visit some places even while being broke. Some of them like Savannah in Georgia may surprise you, while places like Panama City in Florida will be far from what you expect - traveling through the United States alone is worth a try!

Best Places To Visit When Being Broke As A Student

- Arenal Area, Costa Rica.

Speaking of foreign travel destinations, it is important to check essential things as you choose a student-friendly travel company. Once you know all the rules, take your time to read about current Covid-19 travel restrictions. Thankfully, Costa Rica still remains affordable and has hostels for students and B&B options that won't cost a fortune. Most importantly, students are always welcome to visit this beautiful land.

- Panama City, Florida.

A location that will surprise you is Panama City, which is definitely not the first thing that comes to mind when you are a broke college student. The trick here is to visit the place during the off-season when the majority of tourists are away, and even those amazing hotels and beach houses are offered at $50 per night. As you might like to visit local cafés, take your time to seek various discounts, as there will be some great options available.

- Niagara Falls.

The border between New York and Ontario is a place that everyone has to visit at least once in a lifetime. It will make you feel inspired and help you to focus even on the most complex tasks. The Buffalo area has great offers that are affordable, plus they have a good Wi-Fi connection if you have to study as you travel. While we are at it, consider hiring a research helper online to get things done faster and enjoy all the beautiful places that separate the U.S. and Canada. Just avoid intoxicating substances and enjoy nature the way it is, as it will keep you safe as you explore this natural miracle.

- Savannah, Georgia.

It looks just as if you could travel back in time to enjoy the beauty of the American South. It is a true travel adventure that you can enjoy with only a few bucks in your pocket. If you like good Southern food and would like to spend a day visiting the famous Tybee Island, Savannah is a great place to go. As a student, learn more about the local culture, talk to people, and even consider starting a travel blog because it’s a great place to start with.

- New Orleans, Louisiana.

Before you say that it's not New Year's time or complain that Mardi Gras has passed, it's good to find out that New Orleans is a fun place to visit all year round. You can approach your time here as a museum visit. It’s the place to learn more about American history, taste delicious food, and enjoy the fun nightlife. Speaking of affordability, it has great hostels (especially in the French Quarter) that are not as pricey as the hotels. Just book hostels in advance, so there are still free rooms.

Studying and Traveling?

Although it may sound like an impossible choice, everything is not as dim, because the majority of colleges these days offer remote learning schedules and online courses. If you plan to study and travel, consider focusing on flexible courses and additional tasks that will help you earn better grades. You can also participate in international projects, consider being an exchange student, or join global charity programs based on your academic curriculum. As you can see, there are plenty of ways to travel as a student on a strict budget, so don't hesitate to book a trip and enjoy a new adventure!
