5 Cities Outside NY Where You Want To Buy A Vacation Home

June 23, 2022 by Jeremy Lindy

Sometimes, life in a city like New York becomes too hard to bear and the stress starts to settle on the shoulders. People with monotonous work schedules know that vacations and holidays are just as hectic.

Checking in hotels, maintaining timetables, limitations in personal space and so more are a part of it. There are so many of us who are trying to find some space to embrace the natural spark this world has to offer but the feeling of being short of a home always follows.

Why You Need A Vacation House

The popularity of vacation homes is moving up the scale for numerous reasons on hand. More and more people are saving a few bucks more to buy themselves a dream home where they can get in touch with their souls. Vacation homes are the new way to escape from the lively hustle and still be at home. The initial investment is truly large, but once bought, it can seem like a dream too good to be true. An extra fact is that these properties are good sources of passive income as well for people who have idle money sitting around.

A small cabin in the snowy woods, or a house by the ocean; can be anything. Investing in a vacation home is nevertheless a healthy way to uplift your mental spirits. This article takes you through a few tips and guidelines on the best places outside New York to pick for having a vacation home.

Best Cities Outside NY to Buy a Vacation Home

New Buffalo, Michigan

To let anyone know, lakesides can be an amazing location for spending a good holiday too if you know which one to choose. New Buffalo in Michigan is such a tourist-popular location with very few people logging in the area. Buying a home there would let a person enjoy good beaches, hiking spots, and good city life in one place. The general price for a home here can cost $300,000-$500,000 according to the median range. a

Snow Hill, Maryland

Having a wide budget to buy a good vacation home isn’t the right idea all the time. If you know how to search and surf through the market, you can land on some clean winners. Ocean City MD real estate specialist Mitchell G. David says “Snow Hill has some beautiful homes close to the ocean edges. The price ranges are diverse based on the home renovations, features, sizes, and rooms.”

If the pocket is tight, there are double-storied small homes fit for a single family that can cost between $100,000 to $600,000. The space can vary from 2-4 bedrooms within 1500 square feet area mostly. Fancy options are available as well, proposing 4+ bedrooms and bathrooms covering about 3000 square feet of area. These houses cross the price mark of over $1,000,000.

Dauphin Island, Alabama

Too many people probably don’t know but Dauphin Island in Alabama is another great place for a holiday home. Other than low prices, the beach houses in this location have much more features that would win hearts right away.

As this place is still under the shadows, it’s actually quite uncrowded. If you love a more soothing aura with the sound of nature only, you should check out the homes here. The neighborhood families are wonderful companions as well and give a steady environment for kids. With $5,00,000, a person can easily sweep away a house big enough to fit a large family. Typical houses in Dauphin are sized around 1500 to 2000 square feet including 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms in the least.

Big Sky, Montana

While beachsides are common places to move for a holiday life, mountains give a different perspective on life. Big Sky, Montana is somewhere an adventurous person would experience a healthy adrenaline rush. This location has all the access to the nearest ski resorts, hiking tracks, and wild parks. The median price for the homes here typically ranges from $800,000 to $1,200,000 and the space is marvelous enough. It may not be ideally the least crowded place for vacation homes, but the population is good enough to make quick friends.

Palm Springs, California

Last but not least, palm springs in California should be on the list for locating vacation homes. Previously known for being a popular holiday location for Hollywood celebrities, this place is also widely acknowledged for its rich architecture in the building structure.

There are several lush gardens, parks, and hot springs that a resident can enjoy besides the existing resorts to calm their minds down. The median price for the homes here is $612,199. It would be a wonderful investment for families with a knack for quality family time and tons of fun activities.

On an ending note, vacation homes can be utilized to be both a source of income and a gateway to the city hustle when the investment is made in the right place. The mentioned five cities were the top picks after a steady market study but everyone should complete their personal research. Nevertheless, it is highly hoped that anyone interested in vacation homes can get some standard idea of the options available.

Consider exploring homes for sale in Reno, NV. With a booming real estate market and reasonable prices, Reno offers a great opportunity to find your dream home.
