Opening its doors tomorrow in the iconic Hotel Chelsea, Café Chelsea promises a fresh take on the French American bistro concept for New Yorkers and visitors alike. This all-day eatery, helmed by Sunday Hospitality and partner Charles Seich, marks the hotel's first new restaurant since the debut of El Quijote in 1930. Executive Chef Derek Boccagno has artfully curated a menu drawing on traditional French cuisine, featuring dishes such as Poulet Rôti and Tartare de Boeuf. The wine list, painstakingly put together by Wine Director Claire Paparazzo, boasts a variety of French and American wines, catering to both collectors and casual wine enthusiasts. For cocktail lovers, Director of Bars Brian Evans presents inventive takes on classic cocktails, starring French-born spirits. Housed in the former Capitol Fishing Tackle shop, Café Chelsea seamlessly integrates the hotel's historic charm with traditional French accents like a zinc bar and vintage chandeliers. With spaces ranging from the sun-drenched Petit Café to the grand dining room, and a soon-to-be-available 20-seat 'Wine Room', Café Chelsea is set to become a key player in NYC's dining scene.
