The Rag Trader and Bo Peep Make Home in the Garment District

The Rag Trader and Bo Peep Cocktail & Highball Store has officially opened doors this past week in the Garment District. Inspired by the mid-20th century heyday of the Garment District, this vibrant restaurant and underground piano cocktail bar is the perfect after work hideaway.

This 3-floor bar and restaurant offers everything one is looking for from small bites to specialty cocktails. Created by Fox Lifestyle Hospitality Group, The Rag Trader shares similarities to it's sister restaurants, for example, having a taco truck you can eat in similar to Street Taco.

At The Rag Trader the menu highlights the restaurant's strong relationship with local farms and purveyors created by Executive Chef Justin Ottervanger. Signature dishes include Sea Scallop Crudo, Rogue Smokey Blue Salad, Fried East Coast Oysters, Crispy Skin Salmon, Cauliflower ‘Steak’ and the 14oz Bone-in New York Strip.

Lunch and brunch highlights include Mushroom, Gruyere and Chorizo Frittata, Octopus with Salsa Verde, Hangover Burger, Smoked Chicken Salad and Drunkin’ Donuts

“For Bo Peep, I wanted to take it back to a time when drinking was sexy and adventurous. Piano keys dancing across the air, guests were dressed to impress and the perfect drink was in hand,” says Evan Hawkins Beverage Director.

A room to be discovered, a lively piano complements the dimly-lit space, filling the air with regularly rotating bespoke entertainment that ranges from nostalgic favorites to modern classics.

The Rag Trader is open for lunch and dinner daily, plus brunch on weekends; Sun-Thurs: 11 a.m. - 2 a.m., Fri-Sat: 11 a.m. - 4 a.m. Bo Peep Cocktail & Highball Store is open daily Sun-Thurs: 5 p.m. - 2 a.m., Fri-Sat: 5 p.m. - 4 a.m. For reservations or to book a private event, please call (917) 261-5495.
