The Langdon Launches Leasing With 45 Luxury Rentals on the Upper East Side

Leasing has officially launched at The Langdon, a new 24-story luxury rental building at 288 East 88th Street in Yorkville on Manhattan’s Upper East Side. Developed by Alchemy-ABR Investment Partners in collaboration with Azur Holdings Management LLC, the tower brings 45 rental residences to a neighborhood that has seen little large-scale luxury development in recent years. The launch arrives as Manhattan’s rental vacancy rate has fallen to just 1.49 percent, intensifying competition for apartment hunters and placing renewed attention on the limited supply of large, high-quality rentals on the Upper East Side.

Designed by Hill West Architects, The Langdon offers three- to five-bedroom homes, including full-floor penthouses and terraced residences, with monthly rents ranging from $17,650 to $45,000. Interiors feature oversized windows, recessed LED lighting, large walk-in closets and in-unit laundry, while kitchens are outfitted with Fisher & Paykel refrigerators, dishwashers, ovens and microwaves alongside custom wood veneer cabinetry and quartz counters, with premier units featuring Miele cooktops. Bathrooms are finished with heated floors, herringbone and Porcelanosa tile, custom dual-sink vanities and medicine cabinets, and quartz counters. Building amenities include a fitness center and sports court, a children’s playroom, private offices, a terraced lounge, a club lounge, a private screening room, an onsite pet spa, bike storage and a fully attended lobby.

Tim McCarthy, Senior Sales and Leasing Director at Alchemy Properties, said the building has generated significant momentum since leasing began, citing what he called “strong demand for thoughtfully designed luxury rental living” in a historic neighborhood that has seen limited new luxury rental development in recent years.
