Tech-Enabled Features that Amplify Luxury Property Value: Forbes Global Properties Insights

July 12, 2023 by Jeremy Lindy in Real Estate

Forbes Global Properties, a curated consumer marketplace of luxury homes and an invitation-only membership network of top real estate firms, has released the most recent Luxury Agent Poll. The poll asked members to rank the top three tech-enabled features that luxury property sellers have incorporated to significantly enhance their property value. The domestic experts named smart home networks, electric car charging stations, and smart security systems as the top three.

Further, agents highlighted the growing importance of residential renewable energy sources such as solar panels and micro wind turbines. The emphasis is also on home battery and power backup systems and energy-efficient windows and blinds. This finding is an extension of the Perspectives report, a comprehensive analysis of the global luxury residential market, collected directly from Forbes Global Properties’ network of over 13,000 prominent local agents. The report underlines that high- and ultra-high-net-worth individuals now expect homes equipped with amenities that meet their evolving needs and preferences.

John Turpin of Turpin Realtors in North Central New Jersey, reflected this sentiment, noting, “An electric vehicle charger is an increasingly popular addition to many home garages, offering buyers the convenience of at-home charging.”

This view is echoed by Ben Kruger of Hilton & Hyland in Los Angeles, who foresees that the "demand for this amenity will only increase in the coming years as luxury automakers transition away from gas-powered vehicles. Homeowners reluctant to complete this upgrade should secure estimates to help future buyers understand the cost and process of installation.”

Forbes Global Properties, the exclusive worldwide residential real estate partner of Forbes, offers branding and marketing services to the world’s premier real estate firms. It is represented by more than 13,000 real estate agents across 440 locations. All members undergo rigorous vetting, ensuring the network is composed of top brokerages known for their record of success in luxury property sales and exceptional client service.
