Kate Hudson and Fellow Stars Celebrate Palisades Village Grand Reopening1
Caruso’s Palisades Village marked its grand reopening on Saturday, August 15, with a star-studded tribute honoring the Pacific Palisades community’s recovery and resilience. Kate Hudson, Ryan Tedder, Katharine McPhee and David Foster headlined an evening of performances and personal reflections that organizers described as an emotional love letter to Los Angeles. David Foster, the 16-time Grammy winning producer, songwriter and composer, served as musical director for the evening, curating and emceeing the program from start to finish.
Hudson opened with a personal reflection on her lifelong connection to the Pacific Palisades before introducing Tedder, who performed his hits “Good Life” and “Counting Stars” backed by a live orchestra, a 53-person choir and a drone light display over the Village. McPhee paired with singer Daniel Emmet for a duet of “The Prayer,” one of the evening’s emotional high points. Anthony Hopkins, the former honorary mayor of Pacific Palisades, introduced the United States premiere of his original composition “Fanfare and March,” while William Ross conducted the 85-piece Hollywood Film Orchestra. Singer Pia Toscano also performed, and Billy and Janice Crystal appeared on screen during the celebration.
Thousands of guests turned out at Palisades Village throughout reopening day, which began with an official ribbon-cutting ceremony and continued with retailer activations, culinary experiences, pop-ups and family-friendly programming. Originally opened in 2018, the bespoke walkable village closed temporarily in 2025 following the historic Los Angeles fires and underwent a comprehensive restoration before reopening this August. Today it is home to more than 40 curated boutiques and dining destinations, the historic Bay Theater, a specialty grocer and a landscaped green space, and remains the first business district in California to earn LEED Gold certification from the U.S. Green Building Council.
