What Are The Known Benefits Of Taking CBD Oil And Other Products

June 12, 2020 by Jeremy Lindy

Cannabidiol (CBD) is a chemical compound mainly derived from the hemp and marijuana varieties of the Cannabis sativa plant. Pure CBD oil obtained from hemp contains trace amounts of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), terpenes, flavonoids, and other cannabinoids. These organic compounds contribute to the efficacy of CBD oil and its products.

According to research, the effects of CBD oil take place within the brain and through the endocannabinoid system (ECS). ECS plays an active role in our brain signal system that affects vital functions including a person's feelings, movements, and reactions. CBD oil and its products also impact other parts of the central nervous system. See this guide, it is going to help you a lot in gaining information about CBD.

Here’s the list of some known benefits of taking CBD oil and other CBD products:

Anxiety Relief

A study in 2015 concluded that CBD has positive effects on patients suffering from disorders like panic attacks, social anxiety, and post-traumatic stress. Many people similarly find the use of cannabis products like Delta 8 vapes just as effective.

Studies conducted by the National Institute on Drug Abuse showed that CBD reduces stress and anxiety in subjects.

So, if you’re having trouble with anxiety issues lately and wondering what to do, check out Cheef Botanicals as they offer a wide range of CBD products. Remember, the CBD oil or other products shouldn’t have more than 0.30% THC. This is because higher doses of THC can cause adverse effects like hallucinations, increased stress, and changes in a mood. Note that CBD oil from hemp has less than 0.3% THC and that from marijuana has much higher THC content. So, use CBD products manufactured from hemp.

Of course, consult your doctor for expert advice before you use any CBD product and you should only use top brand products..

Anti-seizure

The phytocannabinoid component of cannabis has proven its worth in treating epilepsy, anxiety, and psychotic disorders. In 2018, the FDA approved CBD for the treatment of seizures in children who are 2 years and above. The approved brand for medication was Epidiolex.

Note that this brand works only for Dravet syndrome and Lennox-Gastaut syndrome.

Antioxidant

A study published in 1998 showed the antioxidant properties of CBD. It was concluded that CBD is a lot more powerful than vitamins C and E in terms of inhibitor capabilities.

Antioxidants help the body to neutralize the damaging effects of free radicals and oxidizing agents in the bloodstream. They reduce the risk of having diseases by improving the health of the body cells.

With these findings, CBD is now used in skincare products. Also, CBD oil is added to drinks such as tea and coffee to enhance health.

Neuroprotective

For instance, when a person experiences ischemia and trauma, oxidative stress contributed by the trauma may cause temporary or permanent damage to the neural system of the brain. This is where CBD comes in.

CBD helps in the reduction of damage to the brain and the nervous system. It even improves the growth and synthesis of new neurons. A neuron is a nerve cell that sends signals to other cells for body functions. Studies have shown that CBD can protect neural damage and improve recovery.

Hence, CBD is employed to forestall the progression of medical disorders like epilepsy and Parkinson’s disease.

Pain Relief

Scientific studies have shown that CBD promotes the production of anandamide in the body. Anandamide is a fatty acid transmitter that helps relieve pain. People experiencing pain are treated with CBD because it has anti-inflammatory properties. Some of the topical applications of CBD include:

  • To reduce swelling and skin irritation

  • To ease sore muscles after work-out

  • To ease the pain of chronic disease like arthritis

Anti-acne

Acne is caused by the presence of dirt, excess oil, and clogging of pores due to dead skin cells. The bacteria build up in the pores resulting in blemishes.

CBD controls the production of sebum, an oily secretion of the sebaceous glands, so that excess oil is regulated. The anti-inflammatory effect of CBD relieves the swollen pores of blemishes. The oil is typically used for dry and sensitive skin.

Certainly, CBD oil offers a lot of benefits to treat your acne. Make sure to visit your dermatologist for professional advice.

As a complementary treatment for cancer

There’s no scientific evidence yet that proves any positive effects of CBD products for treating cancer. Nevertheless, CBD has been found promising as a complement to reduce the side effects of cancer treatments like chemotherapy.

Studies indicate that the utilization of cannabinoids can relieve neuropathic pain, craving, vomiting, and nausea. CBD was also given to cancer patients experiencing pain and anxiety.

Conclusion:

The scientific research and clinical trials conducted on CBD oil have revealed a wide range of health benefits. CBD oil performs well in association with the functions of the central nervous system. Generally, the brain system controls all the body functions. Therefore, CBD has many positive effects as outlined above. However, always remember to consult your doctor before you use any CBD product.
