Smart and Practical Ways Women Can Use To Get Their Dream Guy

April 17, 2021 by Jeremy Lindy

Let’s face it women, when it comes to dating, there are plenty of guys that you are going to have to sort through in order to find the right man. There are plenty of things you can do however to make things that much easier for you. With the right dating mindset, you can not only go on better dates with men, but also find the man of your dreams. Stop wasting your time looking for superficial things and start looking for real connections. It might take a little bit of time and it might get frustrating at times but it will all pay off in the end. Here are some smart and practical ways women can find their dream guy.

Use a Dating Platform

This might sound counterproductive as apps like Tinder and Bumble have been the downfall of real dating. Dating platforms can be extremely helpful as long as you are using the right ones and looking for the right people. The fine folks at Connection CoPilot mention that there are plenty of dating platforms that either have barriers to entry such as paywalls, or measures in place to ensure you aren’t wasting your time with the wrong guy. Apps like Tinder have switched over to a hookup mentality and while there is nothing wrong with that, it isn’t what you are looking for. There will also be some genuinely nice guys on Tinder, but it will take a lot of effort to filter through and find the right one.

Instead, look to use dating platforms that are less popular and have barriers to enter. This will ensure you are only getting serious men on there. Create yourself a quality profile and look around for other like minded people. Once you find someone you are interested in, don’t be afraid to send the first message either. Taking initiative is a turn on for many guys and if you see someone you like, you are bound to get them interested if you make the first move. Using the right platform is a great way you can find your dream guy.

Throw Away the Dream Guy Picture

We all have sat there and constructed a mental picture of what your dream partner is going to look like. While this can be harmless fun to do, if you hold onto this and use it as a comparison for men, you are going to have trouble finding the right person for you. It is almost impossible to meet the expectations you will place, especially if you have a dream guy in mind. Instead, have a few non-negotiable things such as smoking and other lifestyle decisions and work from there.

While you might want to have a guy who is slightly taller, you could be turning away a man who is perfect for you all because he is lacking a few inches in the height department. Throw away those mental photos and instead be in the moment with whoever you are with. You will find yourself developing more meaningful connections and getting to know some awesome people.

Don’t Be Desperate

When it comes to relationships, being desperate is seen as a major turn off regardless if you are a boy or a girl. The one problem here however is that it can be tough to not seem desperate at times. If they don’t respond to your message, wait a few hours or even a day. If they haven't responded then you could try messaging them again asking them how they are doing. Sometimes people forget to respond or don’t hit the send button on their messages.

If they don’t respond then, it is a sign that they aren’t interested or they are currently talking to someone else. Move on from there, texting them more will come off as desperate and ruin any future chances. If the person messages you back a week or two later, this should raise some alarm bells. It generally means you are the second or third option for them as things with the first girl didn’t work out. Don’t be afraid to play hard to get here or simply ignore him. The person might be attractive, but getting yourself involved in a relationship with someone who is not emotionally there is only going to cause more harm in the future.

Don’t Build A Wall of Lies

pexels-photo-6037812.jpeg

One of the biggest things many people are guilty of is building a wall of lies that they use to impress the person they are talking to. While embellishing some details in stories can be fun and can add dramatic effect, making up complete lies about yourself is only going to result in issues down the road. Your dream guy probably knows what he is looking for and wants someone who is as serious as him. If he finds out that you have been lying about who you are and what you do, he is going to be concerned about what else you have been lying about. Your dream man will be interested in who you are and therefore you should always tell the truth. If they make fun of you for who you are, they definitely aren’t worth your time.

Don’t Settle

The final tip I can give is to not settle for anything less than what you want. What does this mean? If a man is a work in progress and you have trouble getting along with him, you should definitely move on and find someone else. This does not mean hold onto that dream guy photo as mentioned above, but it does mean not being afraid to exit relationships. People get complacent and settle for things that they aren’t truly interested in. If you want to find your dream guy, you have to not be afraid to stand up for yourself and cut things off with a man when you aren’t feeling it. The sooner you cut him out of the picture, the sooner you can get back to finding the man of your dreams.

These are all smart and practical ways that you can ensure you are finding the right men in dating. Be patient with yourself and stick to what you want, as settling for someone in marriage will only lead to a disaster down the road. What are you looking for in your dream guy?
