Living in LA: Top 5 Most Popular Los Angeles Neighborhoods to Move to in 2022

January 24, 2022 by Jeremy Lindy

Los Angeles or LA has always been a hot spot in America for people to move to. From the food and people to the fact that it’s LA, there are a lot of obvious reasons why people dream of moving to LA, California. The weather, the beaches, the cultural diversity, the nightlife, and more, the reasons are endless.

This is the reason why property rates in LA have been rising and people are willing to spend more than the asking price in the area. Buyers have been purchasing LA homes in drives and thus pushing the prices to new heights. Moreover, the lowest ever mortgage rate last year made it very lucrative for first-time buyers to take the leap of faith and close a deal on their dream house.

The city has a multitude of neighborhoods to choose from. From Hollywood to Koreatown, prospective home buyers are spoilt for choices. In case you’re looking for a house in LA, the choice of the neighborhood should hinge on where you work and where you feel at home due to the community.

Several LA neighborhoods are considered better than the usual. In this article, we will introduce you to some of the best Los Angeles neighborhoods that you should move to this year.

Brentwood

Brentwood is one of the poshest LA neighborhoods that offer hillside drives and views of cityscape meeting the ocean. Therefore, it’s no wonder that Brentwood LA condos and homes nestled into the mountains of Santa Monica are always in huge demand with celebrities, industrialists, and business moguls.

Brentwood is strategically located next to the 405 Freeway. This way the homeowners in Brentwood can simply head north to Sherman Oaks or south to Santa Monica. They can also take in the stunning views of LA from the Getty Center Museum’s Exhibitions Platform.

Pasadena

Pasadena —just like its name—has a funky small-town vibe that appeals to many. Moreover, those who purchase a home in this neighborhood are just a few minutes of drive away from the happening Downtown Los Angeles Area. The neighborhood is home to Rose Bowl Stadium as well as the Old Pasadena historic district. The latter houses the historic Route 66, which is home to classic motels, historic mansions, neon signs, and other historic landmarks.

Pasadena, located south of La Cañada, has some of the historic craftsman-style homes in LA, which are well preserved. This building style was introduced in LA back in the 1920s. Those looking for a house in Pasadena can buy refurbished houses dating back to the early days of LA even today.

Marina Del Rey

Marina Del Rey is quite popular with property buyers thanks to its easy access to LAX and the ocean. Those seeking a beachfront house will love the homes located on the hillside of the neighborhood. Moreover, the fact that Marina Del Rey is home to or close to offices of big companies like Facebook and YouTube, the area is popular with tech employees.

Then there’s the Sepulveda Boulevard, which houses some of the best restaurants and shopping centers in the city. Another attraction of the area is the large hillside bluff, where hikers can enjoy the Ballona Freshwater Marsh from. If you’re interested in buying a house in Marina Del Rey, you’ll find many options ranging from brand new condos to massive beachfront palatial homes constructed from steel, concrete, and glass.

La Cañada Flintridge

Located in the San Gabriel Mountains, the La Cañada Flintridge is an ideal place for those looking for spacious properties away from Downtown L. Those who buy property in the northern end of this neighborhood will be able to enjoy the vistas of the scenic Angeles Crest Highway. Whereas in the south, buyers will house situated on top of the San Rafael Hills overlooking the San Gabriel range.

Some of the attractions in La Cañada Flintridge include Descanso Gardens, La Cañada Toen Center, NASA Jet Propulsion Center, and more. Home-owners can pick from modern-day mansions or historic Tudor-styled homes dating back to the 1930s in this neighborhood.

Mar Vista

If you wish to commute easily to Downtown LA but remain close to the ocean, Mar Vista is the perfect neighborhood to invest in. The Venice Boulevard is running from east to west through Mar Vista, which provides access to the Venice waterfront to the west and Downtown LA if they head east on the same road.

This particular neighborhood is home to modern condos and homes suitable for single families. From traditional 1930s craftsman-style homes to newly constructed properties, Mar Vista has them all.

These are the top 5 neighborhoods to watch out for in LA if you’re planning to move in 2022. These neighborhoods enjoy scenic vistas and are away from the crowded lifestyle of LA, yet provide easy access to the City of Angels.
