However, it isn't always a walk in the park. Proper preparation is essential to make it successful. If you are preparing for seasonal home maintenance, here are a few tips to help you prepare. 

1. Stay Ahead of Repair Emergencies

Do not wait until your repair needs get out of hand. When preparing for seasonal home maintenance, please think of the need for repairs and address them. AC units, for example, typically last ten to 15 years. A good dishwasher will probably last less than ten years.

Pay special attention to the areas where siding joins with the masonry. You'll also need to check around the door and window frames to ensure that heat isn't escaping. This is especially important when preparing for the colder seasons. 

 Sealing openings is inexpensive yet very important. It can make your home more comfortable and lowers your energy bills. If there are any openings in the structures of your house, you may soon have a mold problem.

Even if you live in warm climates, preparing for winter requires you to fix your foundation first. A close look at your outer structure could save you a lot of money in repairs.
