Hog Roast Or BBQ?

September 25, 2020 by Jeremy Lindy

If you are planning on hosting a BBQ party before this summer is over, then you definitely need to read this article before you make your final decision! Yes, beef burgers and sausages are yummy, but people can eat them any day of the week. There is nothing exciting or unusual about barbecue food. However, a hog roast brings the scrumptiousness and the surprise. After all, how often do you and your friends get to tuck into a whole pig? Read on to discover the top five reasons why a hog roast beats BBQ food...

1) It’s unpredictable

When you invite people to your home for a party it is highly unlikely that anyone is going to expect a full roasted hog to be on the menu. BBQ food is extremely predictable. Once the sun starts to shine it seems that all people know is burgers, sausages, and chicken drumsticks. No one is saying that these types of food are not tasty. But, when you are hosting a special event you need something that is going to take people by surprise. A hog roast does this, and pork can be used to create many things, from ground pork tacos to stews.

2) Hog roast hire eliminates the hassle

There are lots of companies providing hog roast hire who take care of everything for you. Not only do they cook the full pig but they also serve it to your guests. Furthermore, they will come to your home with all of the cooking equipment, cutlery, and serving equipment needed. This means that you don’t have to worry about a thing apart from tucking into the meat and enjoying it as much as your guests do. If you put on a barbecue then you will be checking an array of different foods at once and thus you won’t really get the opportunity to enjoy yourself.

3) It tastes delicious

The most important quality of any food is of course how it tastes. The hog roast will have been cooked long and slowly and thus the meat will be tender, juicy, and flavorsome. Beef burgers and chicken drumsticks are thrown onto the barbecue and cooked in a mere ten to twenty minutes. The gulf of difference between a hog roast and a BBQ in terms of quality is massive. If you want to serve genuine succulent meat then the only choice is a pig roast.

4) It looks impressive

How impressed would you be if you walked into someone’s garden and saw a whole pig on a spit? You can rest assured that this will be the main topic of conversation upon everyone’s arrival. It adds another dimension to the whole occasion. It makes it more exciting and consequently the event more impressive. How many times do you hear someone say “oh wow look at those sausages cooking?”

5) People can eat as it suits them

And last but not least, there will be no problem going back for seconds and thirds with a full hog roast. There will be plenty of food on offer and so people can eat as and when it suits them. It is very difficult to do this with a BBQ. After all, it is likely you would provide one burger for each guest, one sausage for each, and so on and so forth. A hog roast will ensure your guests’ stomachs are full and it will also make the occasion more relaxed too.
