Excellent Tips of Brewing the Best Tea

July 12, 2021 by Jeremy Lindy

Taking the best tea at the comfort of your home is the best feeling you can experience, especially during the cold winter weather. But, first, you need to learn how to make yourself a good cup of tea. Due to the few ingredients, many would think that it is a straightforward recipe where you can consistently achieve the same results.

In contrast, everyone usually has their extent and methods which they use to brew tea. Even with coffee brewing machines, you will still find different types of coffee brewed using other methods. It goes to show the diversity in brewing and its results.

You can also add on different ingredients to personalize your coffee and give it your unique taste. To make your drink even more enjoyable, you can pair it with your favorite baked pastry on that excellent feel.

Here are some of the essential factors that you should consider when making tea:

The Type of Tea

You need to understand the type of tea you want to make. Each type has its preparation method that you have to use to get the best results. For some tea types, you will prefer them cold while others are best when hot. These are the main types of tea:

Black Tea

Characterized by its deep and rich color, it has a robust flavor that elicits its high caffeine content. It is easy to make this type of tea as you boil the wilted and oxidized tea leaves in water for up to 4 mins at 90- 100°C. However, it would help if you took note of the water temperature and the time to ensure that the tea boils sufficiently.

White Tea

As the name suggests, white tea has a champagne color. It is a more delicate and rare type of tea that originates from China. You only need to boil it at a water temperature of about 82-87°C and let it steep for about 3mins.

Green Tea

The green tea is not oxidized and has a milder taste than screams of its vegetative flavor. It is most common in Asian countries, primarily Japan and China. Its color ranges from light green to yellow. It takes fewer minutes to brew and boils at a lower temperature.

Herbal Tea

Although they are known as tea types, they do not have the exact scientific origin as other teas. They are primarily herbal infusions and combinations from different vendors. You need to identify an Herbal Tea Shop that will give you the specific type of infusion you want. Additionally, they will explain how you can make your tea.

Method or Strategy To Use

The methods that you choose to brew your tea will depend on the type of tea you choose. Therefore, avoid using different periods or steep times for other types of tea as it will not give you the same result.

You can also choose to add spices that you prefer, like cinnamon or cardamom, to make your tea more memorable. With additional types of tea like Macha, purple tea, or oolong tea, there are more variations to how you can make your tea. You only need to ensure you use the right recipe.

You should also take care of the type of water that you use for brewing your tea. Freshwater comes in as the highly recommended type of water to use. Ultimately, it is all about that perfect cup of tea.
