7 Reasons to Move to New York

July 25, 2021 by Jeremy Lindy

New York is one of the most vibrant cities on earth. From its ethnic diversity to its food and distinctive communities, this city has much to offer people young and old. If you're thinking of moving to the Big Apple, below are some top reasons to do it.

There is Always Something to Do

Like many big cities, there is always something to do in New York. Whether it's early morning or late at night, the city is never short on events, attractions, or things to do. After all, NYC is known as the "city that never sleeps" and it's garnered that name for a reason!

Diversity

New York is one of the most culturally diverse cities in the world. Considered America's melting pot, roughly 35% of New York residents are from other countries. Not only is there a rich diversity of culture, but more than 800 languages are spoken in this magnificent city.

Fantastic Food

Nothing more needs to be said when it comes to the delicious food in New York. From pizza to upscale cuisine, the city has an abundance of foods that you can sample. In fact, there is so much variety here that you wouldn't even need to visit a chain restaurant again. If food is your thing, New York is a great place for it.

Convenience

Thanks to its enormous size, convenience is another big perk of living in New York. Not only can you get a steak dinner at midnight, but you can also get a haircut at all hours of the day (even in the early ones). Also, because of New York's density, you're never far from the convenience of grocery stores, drug stores, pet stores, doctor's offices, etc. No matter where you move to in the city, you probably won't need to leave your area to find what you need.

Cool Neighborhoods

New York is also one of the hippest places to live. Abundant with cool and trendy neighborhoods, there is a lot of choices when it comes to selecting an area to live. Residents say that New York also feels more like a cluster of small towns than one big city. That's because each neighborhood has its own distinct personality. Whether it's Harlem, the East Side, Astoria, Brooklyn Heights, or Coney Island, these areas provide their own character. If you've never been to New York and need help finding a place to live, visit Maly Commercial Realty here.

Never-ending Excitement

It's no secret that New York is an exciting place to live. Aside from its grandness, fantastic food, and cool neighborhoods, there is always something happening. People walking down the street can sometimes come across a random live event or even run into a celebrity. If you're a person that enjoys spontaneity, you'll love walking the streets of New York, where anything can happen at any time.

Its Famous Landmarks

Last but not least, New York is also home to some fantastic landmarks. You'll likely be familiar with The Statue of Liberty, the Empire State Building, St. Patrick's Cathedral, and Grand Central Station. But in moving here, you'll also discover even more exciting attractions and architectural gems that are less known to tourists. Aside from the landmarks, New York also has the infamous Central Park and a plethora of museums and art galleries.
