The Journal has officially hit the market in Jersey City, offering an exclusive first look inside a newly completed, nearly $1 billion residential and retail destination in the heart of Journal Square. The two-tower, 64-story project is being positioned as the largest new development in Jersey City, delivering 1,723 rental residences and 40,000 square feet of retail within a design-driven community built to blend luxury living, cultural programming, and neighborhood activation.

Located at 36 Journal Square Plaza directly above the Journal Square PATH station, The Journal is pitched as a Manhattan-adjacent lifestyle at a more attainable price point. Monthly rents currently start at $2,997 for studios, with one-bedrooms from $3,479, two-bedrooms from $5,216, and three-bedrooms from $6,391, alongside grand opening incentives of up to two months free rent. The project also includes a nearly one-acre public plaza designed as landscaped green space with seating and gathering areas intended to enrich the neighborhood’s public realm.

Designed by Woods Bagot with interiors by 1159, residences feature wide-plank flooring, oversized windows with skyline and river views, full-sized GE stainless-steel appliances, quartz countertops and custom cabinetry, in-home washer and dryer, and Porcelanosa and Kohler bathroom finishes. Smart living features include integrated thermostats, 1Gbps high-speed internet, building-wide seamless cell service via Distributed Antenna System (DAS), and a dedicated resident app.

Amenities are a major headline, with over 45,000 square feet of lifestyle space curated with RH furnishings and commissioned artworks from local and regional artists. The Health & Wellness offering includes an Olympic-sized indoor pool, outdoor pool with hot tub, cold plunge, sauna and steam rooms, full basketball court, rock-climbing wall, squash courts, bowling alley, a virtual golf simulator, and expansive fitness programming spaces. The Work & Play and Lifestyle & Community layers add coworking lounges, screening rooms, game rooms, children’s spaces, multiple resident lounges, and two rooftop terraces with panoramic views of the Hudson River and Manhattan skyline, with immediate occupancy available and Tower Two now open for leasing.
