Thinking of Moving Near Houston? Try Out Jordan Ranch, West of Houston

June 10, 2025 by Jeremy Lindy

Houston is one of the most popular places to live in the entirety of Texas for many reasons. There are lots of great jobs to take here in this city, as well as the chance to enjoy amazing weather, great shopping, and wonderful family-friendly places for kids. If you are going to be moving to Houston, you might feel overwhelmed by all of the options that are on offer when it comes to housing.

Jordan Ranch homes for sale can be the perfect place to start your search because this neighborhood has it all. While there are many nice places to look for a home in the area around Houston, Jordan Ranch stands out head and shoulders above the crowd. This region around Houston offers you access to a comprehensive lifestyle that includes all of the right perks and benefits.

Why You Need to Consider Moving to Jordan Ranch

Jordan Ranch is a master-planned community, which is always a benefit. This means that the community was built for success and to offer lots of amenities, both factors that make living somewhere that much easier and more pleasant. Even if you don’t have kids, you will make use of the common areas, services, and perks within this community.

This is one of the most sought-after communities to live in because of the masterful design of the neighborhoods that are part of the community. You will find homes that are modern but have traditional elements that make them cozy, comfortable, and beautiful. Many homes in Texas blend these elements handily, and there is a lot of new construction in Jordan Ranch that takes this styling into consideration, along with upgraded materials, energy efficiency, and other perks.

There are community events in Jordan Ranch all the time, and the emphasis on green spaces makes each day in this community feel like a day lived in the country, far from the city. You are actually not far from Houston at all, however, which is perfect if you need to commute for work or your kids have activities and events that they need to attend that are in the city.

The lazy river-style pool is a big hit with community members, and there is a fully-equipped fitness center and tennis courts to enjoy as well. Sunset Farm is part of the neighborhood as well, and you can pick fresh produce and supplement your healthy lifestyle with ease by stopping in at the farm from time to time.

Schools in the area are top-notch, which matters for parents of kids of all ages. There’s even a new school, Melton Elementary School, which just opened up in 2024. Being able to send your kids to schools that will help them enjoy a successful life in the future is key for most parents, and this is a big attraction to Jordan Ranch for many families.

Other Benefits of Living in Jordan Ranch

Jordan Ranch also offers outdoor enthusiasts access to walking and hiking trails and the Brazos Bend State Park and Mary Jo Peckham Park are nearby. You can easily enjoy the six parks and walking and biking trails within the community each day, but you have the choice of heading out to access additional trails and nature areas without having to make a big effort.

Shopping and dining near Jordan Ranch are excellent, and there are malls, local stores, and shopping streets nearby. Some of these areas are even walkable, which can be critical for people who love to feel like their car can stay at home as often as possible.

There are new homes being built in the various neighborhoods within Jordan Ranch all the time, so buying a brand new home is a snap if you are set on shopping for new construction only. That being said, the older homes in the neighborhood are not that old and were designed to offer the right blend of comfort, modernity, and classic, welcoming style notes.

Many homes in this community feature swimming pools, outdoor kitchens, energy-efficient appliances, and upgrades. The community is focused on indoor-outdoor living, and you should be able to enjoy both spaces of your property with ease all year long. The weather is quite good in Houston most of the year, so there is no reason to miss out on spending a lot of time outside enjoying the sunshine and warmth in comfort.

While there is an HOA that governs the community, the group is very reasonable, and they just maintain the housing values and curb appeal of the neighborhoods. They are never invasive, and you will appreciate their efforts to keep your home and the surrounding areas beautiful.

People of all ages will be able to find the home of their dreams in this community, and there are various price points represented here as well. You will get a lot for your money without having to break the bank when you choose to shop for homes within Jordan Ranch.

Jordan Ranch is an Ideal Place to Live for People From All Walks of Life

No matter what kind of home you have been searching for, there is so much to love about Jordan Ranch. You will be able to enjoy access to a wide range of amenities in this community, and you will also be able to track down a home that is perfect for your specific needs and wants. The schools are excellent here, and commute times to Houston are reasonable.

There is a lot to do in this community right inside of the streets and neighborhoods that comprise it, but you will also be close to natural preserves, shopping, and dining. If you want to live somewhere that feels like the country without having to live hours from Houston, Jordan Ranch is a great choice for your needs and goals. Jordan Ranch is highly desirable, but there is always new construction going on, and getting a new home here is not impossible at all.
