You Don't Have To Be Old To Have The Health Issues

There is a big stigma around getting old. People assume that getting old automatically means that you’re going to have a million and one health issues knock at your door. That really isn’t the case. Some people can grow old and end up with no health issues at all, until they get to the very end of life. Some people can grow old and be stuck with every health issue you could possibly think of it. It’s all to do with genetics, and how you’ve treated your body throughout the duration of your life. But one thing that we really want to clear up, is that you shouldn’t link some health issues to old age. There are some that can strike at any moment, and when they do, they’ll limit your life just as much as they would if you were older! Here are some of the most common that people get confused by, and how you can make sure that you’re going to avoid them.

Problems With Your Hearing

There’s nothing worse than knowing that your hearing is going downhill from a young age, but once it starts, you’re pretty much not going to be able to avoid it. Unless it was caused by injury that can be healed, you’re pretty much going to be stuck with deteriorating hearing, due to the different parts of your ear not working as well as they used to do. Now, knowing that this is happening to you a little earlier than expected can be rather worrying, but there are some obvious ways of managing it. The first thing you need to do is get a hearing appointment to try and find the route cause of your problems, as well as to determine how bad your hearing has actually gone. Just because you find yourself asking people to repeat things, or not quiet catching what someone is saying, it doesn’t mean that you’re nearly deaf. You might find that you’ll be able to wear the smallest of ear pieces, that will barely be noticeable to the people around you, to correct a slight hearing loss issues that you’re going to have. If you know it’s pretty severe, then the sooner you get it seen to, the sooner you can get back to normal life. There might be an underlying medical issue that can be treated if you have a sudden onset of severe hearing loss.

Alzheimer's

This is definitely one of the most worrying that we’re going to talk about. Alzheimer’s is a form of dementia, and it is one of the most common. Once it has started, the disease only gets worse until brain function becomes minimal, and quality of life is dramatically reduced. That’s not to say that this happens all within a set period of time. It will take years for it to progress to the later stages, and eventually become fatal. The most common symptom that people will speak about is the memory loss, which can be worrying for the family, and the person involved. Now, it’s typically said that this only happens with old age, but there have been recent cases of it happening in the early 30’s, which we know will shock a few of you. It is a genetic disorder, but there can be faulty genes in people who haven’t had it passed down, that still mean they will get alzheimer's. To help keep your brain nice and healthy, make sure you’re always eating healthy food, and keeping your brain active with sums and quizzes!

Arthritis

Definitely something you don’t want to experience, but something that so many people fall victim to from an early age. There are some non-related health issues that are linked to the early onset of arthritis in children, such as crohn's disease, that will begin to limit life. Again, once you have this, there’s no getting rid of it, it’s all about control. It causes irritation and inflammation of the joints, which can be so painful to go through, especially if you’re going through a big flare up. To try and control the problem, the best thing you can do is keep the joints as lightly active as possible, all the time. During flare ups, it’s best to rest up, and take plenty of anti-inflammatory medication. During the times where you don’t feel as bad, you don’t want to give the joints time to stiffen up a little. There are things such as physiotherapy that can help, but you would have to go through your doctor to get this!

So, don’t be naive and think you’re immune to certain health issues, because they can and will happen at any age!
