Summer is now here and what better time to escape from the sizzling heat of the city than to jump in an open topped car and take the road trip of a lifetime.  America has some of the best road trips on the planet, and in this article we’re going to look at five of the best in the US.

If you’re really looking to get away from it all and would like to practice some new age techniques to help you destress and unwind then what better way than to incorporate camping into your road trip, and going to some really beautiful, remote, natural places such as camping in Tikal for instance.

Now let’s take a look at five road trip ideas to take this summer in the US. Not sure the best way to travel? You can always go to Limo Find to rent your Party Bus Casa Adobes for your next cross country trip.

US ROUTE 20

Travelling coast to coast along Route 20, which is known for being the longest road in America - covering the gigantic distance of 3,365 miles from Newport to Boston is a great way to explore America, and a great feat in itself.  En route you’ll find places such as Yellowstone National Park which is a lovely area to stop around in for a few days.

If time is tight, however, the route itself can be a fast and easy drive; meaning you’re able to cover it in two to three weeks - but why would you want to, when this way you will miss out on all the small towns and sightseeing opportunities along the way.

CALIFORNIA STATE ROUTE 1

Summer is by far the best time to take this trip, as it will be soaked in sun with optimal daylight hours.  The route will take you along the Pacific coast which starts just north of San Diego and leads through Los Angeles where you'll drive through Long Beach, Malibu, Santa Barbara, Santa Cruz, Big Sur, and San Francisco.  This route is a 745 mile journey that predominantly hugs the exceptional California coastline, and is one of the best road trips in the entire world.

ROUTE 66

Perhaps the most famous “road trip” in the world, yet not necessarily as enticing as California’s Coastal route - though, strangely enough, it’s this one that appears on most people’s bucket lists.

This year, Route 66 will soon celebrate its 100th birthday, as one of the first numbered roads in the US.  The route starts in Chicago and makes its way to Santa Monica covering 2,451 miles.

FLORIDA KEYS

The US 1 from Miami to Key West is a short 150 mile drive that takes in a variety of the keys sandwiched between the Gulf of Mexico and Atlantic Ocean.  The majority of this route is surrounded by the ocean, and the most stunning section of this drive is the Seven Mile Bridge.

MONUMENT VALLEY
