The Berkeley Palm Beach has officially broken ground in West Palm Beach, marking the start of construction on a 25-story luxury residential tower overlooking Clear Lake. Developed by Al Adelson, who previously built The Bristol, and designed by Arquitectonica, the 193-residence building has already logged more than $120 million in total sales, including over $40 million since April, well before the first steel goes up.
Located at 550 South Australian Avenue, just west of the Intracoastal, The Berkeley is one of the only developments in the city to offer dual-water views, with residences above the 15th floor catching sunsets over Clear Lake on one side and views toward the Intracoastal and Atlantic on the other. The 193 homes, including four penthouses, range from two to five bedrooms with 9 to 11-foot ceilings and oversized terraces, priced from roughly $2.5 million to more than $12 million. Amenities include a rooftop resort-style pool and spa, fitness center, golf simulator, private dining space next to a chef’s kitchen, and lounge and club areas, backed up by category five windows and a full building emergency generator.
“Today, buyers are expanding their definition of luxury,” said Al Adelson, developer of The Berkeley Palm Beach. “They still want waterfront living, but they also value walkability, connectivity, proximity to Palm Beach International Airport, and immediate access to the city’s growing cultural and business districts.” Jay Phillip Parker, CEO Brokerage for Douglas Elliman’s Florida region and President of Douglas Elliman Development Marketing, which is handling sales, credited the pace of sales to that same shift toward convenience and connectivity. Construction is underway now, with completion anticipated in 2029.
