Ritz-Carlton Residences Bring Landmark Revival to Brooklyn Heights

Marriott International and SomeraRoad have unveiled The Ritz-Carlton Residences, Brooklyn Heights, introducing the brand’s legendary hospitality to the borough for the first time. The exclusive collection of luxury residences will occupy the storied former Hotel Bossert at 98 Montague Street, marking Brooklyn Heights’ first branded residential offering and the 50th standalone property in The Ritz-Carlton Residences’ global portfolio.

SomeraRoad, the New York and Nashville based investment and development firm behind the project, acquired the landmark building in 2025 and has since assembled a team of architects, designers, and preservation specialists to guide its transformation into one of the borough’s most anticipated new addresses.

Designed by New York architecture firm Helmle & Huberty and originally opened in 1909, the 14-story Renaissance Revival building has long been a fixture of Brooklyn Heights, once hosting the Brooklyn Dodgers’ 1955 World Series celebration. The restoration will preserve the hotel’s geometric brick facade, sculpted granite and limestone base, ornate terra-cotta cornice, arched double-height windows, and signature lion’s head keystones. Ground-floor retail will include the first full-service Brooklyn restaurant from Union Square Hospitality Group, the acclaimed hospitality company founded by Danny Meyer, designed to serve both residents and the surrounding Montague Street community.

Residents will have access to a 24-hour attended lobby, dedicated residential services, and exclusive benefits across Marriott’s portfolio through the ONVIA Residence Owner Recognition Program, alongside amenities designed for wellness and entertaining. Construction is expected to begin later this year, with completion anticipated in 2029. Exclusive sales and marketing are being led by Ryan Serhant’s SERHANT.
