New York Distilling Co. Opens Jaywalker, a Cocktail Bar and Distillery for the City's Rule-Breakers
New York Distilling Company has opened Jaywalker, a new cocktail bar and distillery in Bushwick conceived as an ode to the city’s artists, musicians and rule-breakers. Blending cocktail culture with immersive whiskey experiences and visual storytelling, the roughly 3,000-square-foot, 370-person space reimagines the traditional tasting room as a place to gather, connect and indulge in a great drink, complete with copper stills and graphic-novel-style murals tracing the history of American rye.
Rye Egg Cream
At the heart of it all is Jaywalk Rye, a trailblazing whiskey built from a revived 17th-century New York rye varietal, paired with a cocktail program from returning beverage veteran Jamie Gordon. The menu leans approachable and playful, with $12 Manhattans and Martinis, seasonal creations, frozen drinks (yes, a frozen Manhattan) and a reimagined Rye Egg Cream. Inspired by the flavors and aromas of everyday New York, standouts include a Floral Arrangement martini and a Vesper Frose for the warmer months.
To eat, Jaywalker partners with beloved Brooklyn restaurant Kings Co Imperial for a curated selection of modern Chinese dishes made for sharing. The venue will also be showing all USA and Scotland World Cup matches, making it a fitting place to bring a crew. Located at 573 Johnson Ave in Brooklyn and open Thursday through Sunday, Jaywalker marks a bold new chapter for New York Distilling Company following its acquisition by Loch Lomond Group.
