Looking to Get Out on the Town? Here Are a Few Ideas You Can Try

October 18, 2024 by Jeremy Lindy

If you are looking to get out on the town and have fun, there are so many options in Illinois. It can be hard to pick the right activities for your night out without a little bit of guidance. These tips will help you to find the perfect things to do when you have the desire to plan a fun night with friends or a loved one.

If you are lucky, you will be able to catch something exciting like a local holiday celebration. There is always something going on in Lansing, Illinois, Chicago, and surrounding areas. From things that are on offer on a daily basis, to special events and opportunities, you can have a great time at Fox Pointe.

There are lots of other cool activities to enjoy in the Lansing area. You can even combine some of the options to make a few-hour night out that lasts for a few hours. Planning a full night of exciting fun can be a snap with these suggestions.

Some Ideas to Help You Get Out on the Town for Some Fun

1.      Fox Pointe

This perfect gem of an events venue can offer you access to everything from musical events and comedians to live performances in all sorts of genres, from blues to country, from rock to pop. There are also things like seasonal adventures on offer throughout the year at this event location.

Fox Pointe’s annual Trick or Treat Event draws nearly a hundred businesses and organizations every year to pass out candy to the nearly two thousand kids, parents and grandparents that come dressed up to spook and scare! The entire town gets involved with the much-anticipated annual display of Halloween fun, filled with not-so-scary ghosts, witches, bats, mummies and more, that entertains families as they collect treats.

Fox Pointe has been celebrating the holidays with a tree lighting and Santa and Mrs. Claus parade for years, and the Holiday Fest gets bigger and better all the time! Start your Christmas shopping at the Holiday Market, with nearly two dozen vendors offering gifts of all kinds for nearly everyone you’re buying for. Visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus and meet live reindeer! Ice skate whatever the weather on a synthetic rink. Watch live ice carving, listen to storytelling, live music and performances, and make winter crafts with Sand Ridge Nature Center!

Fox Pointe is fully accessible for visitors, with climate controlled, sanitary bathrooms and a full concession stand filled with delicious food options and a full bar!

2.      Unique Eateries

If you want to really spice things up, you should make a list of all of the eateries in your area that you haven’t yet visited. Pick the most unique one and head there for the night. Going out for a meal can be a great way to reconnect with loved ones and kids and it can foster improved conversation which can be lacking in today’s busy reality.

Unique eateries can help you to try foods from all over the world, and you might also find new favorite foods and drinks during your night out. Even if you have had the kind of cuisine that you decide to go eat, each restaurant out there has its own unique flavor and food offerings.

3.      Head to Places Off the Beaten Path

Visiting hole-in-the-wall locations and places out of the beaten path can offer you the chance to discover new favorite venues, restaurants, and shops. Heading off the beaten path can be a lot of fun and you should always be open to doing this when you are looking to get out on the town.

Getting recommendations from friends, family, and locals can help you to find new experiences to try and enjoy. You will often miss out on these cool experiences if you don’t ask around for advice. There are sometimes great online forums that will tell you about experiences in out-of-the-way places as well.

4.      Escape Room

An escape room is a great way to go out on the town. You can use your smarts to have fun, and you will love the challenge of escaping. Bringing friends and family with you can ensure that your night out is a blast. This is also a great way to have an affordable night of fun now that drinks and eating out are so expensive.

Escape rooms come in all shapes and sizes and can be based on all kinds of topics and themes. You will also be able to pick from different difficulty levels which can be great to ensure that new players won’t struggle to have fun during their first experience.

5.      Scavenger Hunt

Scavenger hunts aren’t just for kids at summer camp! These kinds of experiences are a blast and can be based on a variety of themes. Scavenger hunts are highly technology-driven these days, and you can usually just download an app and check in virtually throughout the experience.

These are fun and active ways to have a great time on a night out, and people of all ages can have a blast enjoying this kind of activity. It is a great way to get to know a location, a new town, or new people.

6.      Karaoke

Karaoke is a classic adventure to enjoy on a night out. Whether you are going on a date or you are trying to enjoy a night out with friends or family, this is a great option to pick for your night of fun. Kids can even come along on this kind of adventure, which is a great benefit to those who don’t have a sitter but who still want to go out and have fun.

Karaoke is really affordable as well, which is quite helpful if a fancy dinner or a concert is out of your reach. You can have your own concert with your friends and family if you select karaoke as your plan during your night out.

Spending a Fun Night Out on the Town is Easier Than You Might Think

Getting to enjoy a night out doesn’t have to break the bank. You can enjoy all kinds of great evening adventures when you use these tips to plan for a fun time. Most of these options are great for all ages and can offer you the chance to make the most of your time spent with the people that you care about.

Foxpointe can offer you the chance to enjoy live entertainment at a very cool venue, or you can opt to do something classic, like karaoke on your night out. Most of these options are quite affordable and should be accessible in almost any part of the US.

Having fun can be easy, and you will love these night-out-on-the-town options when you get tired of sitting at home and watching TV.
